UPC CROSS-REFERENCE SETUP FOR FACTORIES
RLM System
Page 2Why do we need UPC cross-references?
• For some Wal-Mart styles ODS does not create open stock (00A) UPCs
• The individual sizes are created as prepacks in ODS and these UPCs are recognized by RLM as a different style
• RLM therefore creates “dummy” UPCs starting with 79999 for the prepack components
• These 79999 UPCs must be matched to a Wal-Mart UPC (from the bible) via the UPC Cross-Reference file
• Wal-Mart divisions are 13 and 14. Styles with 79999 UPCs must have cross-reference UPCs entered in order to scan the units into the cartons.
