    WelcomeDear Readers,

Having been selected as the Co-Chairs for the UOAA 2014 Conference, we were certain this would bea fantastic opportunity! Not only would it give us hands on experience on running a corporate event;but it would also provide us with the opportunity to build relationships with our UOIT students andindustry professionals. We believe that our past experiences on campus have enabled us with theskills and expertise to ensure this years Conference is a great success. Over the summer we have com-pleted major tasks and are continuing to work throughout the year to bring UOIT students the best!

Over the past four years, the UOAA Conference has aimed to provide delegates with aninteractive and knowledgeable experience. Our mission is to host a Conference thatcan be thoroughly enjoyed and where delegates will be able to retain information that

will be valuable for their future. The Conference will help to showcase UOIT studentsacademic talents and leadership skills to industry professionals throughout the en-tire event; during workshops, networking sessions and the case competition itself.

As the Conference Co-Chairs, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce to youthe UOAA 2014 Conference; Accounting for Innovation. With this years Conference, ourbiggest initiative is to develop our attendees in a way that portrays their own innova-tive thinking; by taking that and applying it directly to the accounting industry. The UOAA2013 Conference is a building block for this years event; however, we plan to bringplenty of new aspects in relation to our new theme that will evidently engage thedelegates, attendees, and sponsors. By teaching the concepts of enterprise and the

need for accountants in different industries, we hope that our event would foster a newelement of competition and provide our delegates with a broader range of thinking.

We are students, just like you and we encourage you to really take advantage of the op-portunities provided within UOIT on campus. Set yourselves apart from the crowd, andbe a part of something that will benefit your future in the long run. We are looking for-ward to meeting each new and existing member of the UOAA during the 2014-2015 ac-ademic years; whether it is at a monthly event or as a delegate of our Conference!

    Best Regards,
