Redon Drain ./

The even circular perforation of the Redon drain provides many holes for drainage and allows the surgeon to cut the drain at an even angle.

Spiral Drain . The principle of the spiral formation of the recessed oval eyes ensures optimal drainage while significantly reducing the risk of tissue contact and growth through oposing eyes.

Slits Drain The 2 cm long slits in the drain allows the drain to flatten out and drain larger areas of tissue. Slits drains are recommended for superficial plastic surgery where the skin is tight and space is limited or for drainage of subcutaneous oozing between fatty well-vasculated tissue where hemostasia cannot be achieved during surgery.

Silicone Drain This soft and biocompatible drain is for drainage near delicate tissue, and long term treatment of hypersensitive patients. The spiral formation of the drainage holes reduses the risk of blocking of the drain. The enclosed connector fits 100 ml and 400 ml Unoversal bellows. In combination with the female drain connec­tor, the silicone drain can be applied to HandyVac.

Corrugated Drain

The velvet design of the corrugated drain allows open passive drainage used in situations where the wound is infected and must be kept open. The enclosed safety pin ensures that the drain doesn't slide back into the patient while simultaneously indicating the position of the drain.

Drainage Connecting Tubes For connection of drains and drainage bottles. The non-collapsable tubing is ideal for both high and low vacuum sources. The cut-to-fit connector fits 1 or 2 drains CH 06-18.

Our Ulmer drain is available with a solid trocar.

The Ulmer drain ­a breakthrough in drain design

It's a basic principle of flow physics that if you have a series of holes of equal size in a tube, the closer a hole is to the suction source, the greater the action of the suction at that point. By using graduated hole sizes, the remarkable Ulmer drain counteracts this effect, equalizing suction effect along its entire length and thus increasing drain effectiveness.

Over twice as effective as conventional drains Clinical studies have shown that Ulmer drains from Unomedical removed over 50% more fluid during the first post-operative day than con­ventional Redon drains. On days two and three, the Ulmer principle proved to be almost 2.5 times more effective, demonstrating far greater removal of blood/secretion at the distal end. 1 Moreover, the round holes and uniformly gentle suction help reduce blockage by tissue and subsequent trauma during drain removal.
