Clark College’s 2011 commencement speaker Dr. Donna Beegle, a national poverty expert, shared her own life challenges and how education made the difference. Describing her determination to overcome hardships, she urged students to stay focused on their dreams and their “unlimited potential.”

As we begin a new academic year, it is this potential that Clark College strives to support with high-caliber faculty and staff, challenging coursework and an expectation of excellence for each student. Whether these students are learning English as their second language; taking humanities or communication courses for a transfer degree; studying for a GED; or learning a second language—Japanese, Spanish, German or American Sign—Clark College supports them with tutoring, accessible class schedules, and other resources to help them succeed.

With less than 42% of Clark’s funding from state sources—and more budget cuts expected—your gift of $100 is vital to providing well-educated and prepared individuals into our workforce or on to higher education. For example, your monthly ten dollar investment helps a student purchase needed textbooks and supports scholarships. A gift, at any level, encourages the potential of all students making our community stronger.

Your tax-deductible gift can be designated to any area at Clark College, or specifically to any fund within Basic Education, English, Communications and Humanities unit (BEECH Division), which includes foreign language studies, philosophy, journalism, developmental education, reading, speech, and English as a Second Language. Thank you.
