OC GUIDE
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” - John 10:10
Faith isn’t limited to a worship
service, devotional or Chapel.
Learning doesn’t end with final
exams or a graduation ceremony.
At Oklahoma Christian University,
these principles drive us. Through
faith-infused academic programs and
campus activities, OC students gain
the knowledge and skills they need to
become leaders in all walks of life.
But our students seek more than
successful careers. Their ultimate
motivation is to serve God. They are
determined to put their faith into action
to make a difference in the world.
This is a place where you can realize your
purpose and find your calling. OC is a
place where you can live life to the full.
About the UniversityOC is about the transformation of lives
for Christian faith, scholarship, and
service. We are engaged in a diligent
quest for quality and excellence in every
aspect of our work. There is hardly a
week that goes by during the academic
year that I do not receive word of our
students, alumni, or faculty receiving
an award for their accomplishments
or recognition for serving others.
Thank you for your interest in Oklahoma
Christian. I hope you will take every
opportunity to visit our campus and get
better acquainted with the marvelous
work of our faculty and staff, and
the extraordinary accomplishments
of our students and alumni.

Honors Program
OC’s Honors Program provides an
exceptional undergraduate experience
for academic achievers who are eager
to learn in a Christian community.
The program offers an Honors curriculum
in place of the general education core
curriculum. The program is what the
National Collegiate Honors Council calls
the “most robust” model for Honors
programs – a coherent, four-year
experience built around integrated, core
courses designed exclusively for Honors
students and taught by exceptional faculty.
Honors courses are team-taught and
interdisciplinary. Professors encourage
a high level of participation, foster
considerable independent research, and
mentor students in writing papers that
demonstrate mature, scholarly thinking.
Each year, about 25 percent of the
students are National Merit Scholars
and the average ACT score of entering
students is above 31. Honors students
live in Honors House at Davisson
Hall, a newly-renovated residence
that is the hub of the living/learning
community in the Honors Program.
Off-Campus Study Programs
Through OC’s European Studies
Programs, students experience firsthand
much of the history and culture that
Europe has to offer. Choose to spend
an entire fall semester abroad studying,
traveling and serving, or do the same
thing during six weeks in the summer.
See St. Paul’s Cathedral, where
Prince Charles and Diana were
married, visit the palace in Vienna
where Napoleon lived, and study
Michelangelo’s “David” in Florence.
The Pacific Rim Studies Program begins
every fall semester in China with its
famous silk markets, the Great Wall,
Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden
City. It continues in Japan with stops
in Tokyo, Kyoto and Ibaraki.
Students than head to New Zealand
and Australia to study and serve, along
with experiencing thrills like “Zorbing,”
black water rafting and snorkeling the
Great Barrier Reef. The final stop is
Hawaii, highlighted by Waikiki Beach
and a stirring trip to Pearl Harbor.
A year of study at Japan’s Ibaraki
Christian University comes with a full-
tuition scholarship. Additional summer
programs include a Canada Shakespeare
Tour for fine arts or literature credit and
a medical mission trip to Honduras.
Through the Council of Christian
Colleges and Universities, students
can pursue programs like film school
in Los Angeles, political or journalism
studies in Washington, D.C., professional
musician and music executive training
at the Contemporary Music Center
in Massachusetts, and international
studies in Australia, China, England,
Latin America, Russia and Uganda.

First-Year Programs
Several times each summer, OC offers
orientation to all incoming students.
This orientation is designed to help
students understand the nature of college
academics and to help with enrolling at
OC for the first time. In addition to New
Student Orientation, new students are
required to attend Earn Your Wings the
week before classes start in the fall. This
orientation to campus life (presented by
upperclassmen) helps build relationships
and develop university pride and unity.
For more information, call (405) 425-

ATHLETICS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Oklahoma Christian is riding strong
momentum as one of the best athletic
programs in the country, placing in the top
10 of the national all-sports standings the
past two years. OC had the top program
in the Sooner Athletic Conference,
recognized as one of the premier
small-college leagues in the nation.
The university fields teams in men’s and
women’s basketball, men’s and women’s
cross country, men’s and women’s golf,
men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and
women’s tennis, men’s and women’s
track and field, baseball and softball,
with student-athletes honored as NAIA
All-Americans and NAIA Scholar-Athletes
in a variety of sports on an annual basis.
OC has won 42 NAIA championships,
including the 2003 men’s tennis and
the 2009 and 2011 men’s golf titles,
plus a slew of individual and relay
crowns in track and field. Seventeen
of OC’s national championships have
come in the past three years.

CLUBS/INTRAMURALS
Students can choose from seven men’s
clubs and six women’s clubs on campus.
From Spring Sing to service projects
and other activities, clubs provide a
great way to form close relationships
and grow spiritually. All OC students
can participate in athletic events that
will enhance their physical, mental,
social and spiritual experience at OC.
SPIRITUAL CONNECTIONS
One of OC’s most important traditions
is meeting for Chapel every weekday.
The main Chapel service and other
gatherings like Women’s Chapel,
Missions Chapel, Great Songs Chapel
(and more!) provide a chance to focus
on God. Monday night’s “View 63” and
the “Thursday Night Devo” also bring
students together to praise and worship.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
The Student Government Association
is the official organization representing
the OC student body. Its executive
officers, senators, and committees
govern and supervise student activities
within the range of its bylaws. Officers
and senators are chosen by popular
vote, with representatives from the
residence hall councils, classes, and
clubs holding designated positions.
SERVICE ACTIVITIES
Held during Earn Your Wings week, Kite
Day brings more than 200 inner-city
school kids to campus to fly kites and
eat lunch with OC’s incoming students.
Kite Day kicks off a program that sees
hundreds of OC students volunteer to
mentor these kids. Since 1976, more than
1,200 OC students (from all majors) have
enrolled in physical education classes
that allow them to work one-on-one with
elementary students with special needs.
BIG EVENTS
A highlight of Spring Visit weekend,
Spring Sing features solo and group
performances with a live band, and
shows from OC’s freshman class and
social service clubs. Freshman Fanfare
is a similar event in the fall that allows
first-year students to show off their
talents. In November, Homecoming
weekend includes basketball games, the
Homecoming musical, and the bonfire.
Cocoa and Carols brings holiday spirit to
campus in December with performances
from the Chorale and Symphonic Band.
OC GUIDE
Campus Resources, Organizations, and Activities
With all of our recent athletic success, we
may be most proud of our 3.2 cumulative
GPA for the entire athletic department
last year. Twelve of our athletic teams
had a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
Oklahoma Christian is recognized as an
NAIA Champions of Character institution
for the impact its makes through charitable
activities and community outreach.
The OC Cage Camp program,
the largest basketball camp of its
kind west of the Mississippi River,
recently celebrated its 20th year.
OC is home to “The Complete Athlete.”
We hope it will be your home, too.
