Keaney Gymnasium

The old single pane glass with broken seals caused cold drafts and heat loss during winter. New high-efficiency window systems improve efficiency, comfort and light control.

Keaney Gymnasium

The old gymnasium lighting was inefficient and needed to stay on continuously. New lighting with automatic controls saves 71% in electricity use and improves lighting.

Tootell Aquatics Center

The URI Aquatics Center previously had pools open to the atmosphere when not in use after hours. Automatic pool covers were installed. Savings generated by this measure equated to approx. 560,000 gallons of water and over 7,000,000 lbs of steam. A reduction of chemicals for water

treatment are also anticipated due to the reduced evaporation component.

Narragansett Bay Campus

At the Narragansett Bay Campus The savings generated by the project enabled the University to replace a failed chiller and heating system at the Coastal Institute. This allowed asset protection

funding to be redirected to other critical projects.
