University of Peshawar

13th QEC Meeting

August 18-19,2009, Karachi

Self Assessment Documentation

The Department of Geography was the first department selected for Pilot study. The SAR was submitted, AT constituted but the reports of the AT are still awaited.

As a result of which further processing of the document is delayed.

Many letters from QEC were sent to the HoD for writing the SARs but no one produced SARs of their programs.

Finally the Vice Chancellor and Registrar were requested to intervene and instruct the HoDs to do the needful.

Despite letters sent from the Registrar, only four out of 33 departments namely, Institute of Chemical Sciences, Departments of Psychology, Statistics and History complied and submitted their SARs about three weeks before.

The SAR of Department of History was returned for resubmission since it did not follow the manual and was not worth presentation.

The QEC (QEC means only the Director) has just started scrutiny of these documents according to the checklist provided in the workshop on program assessment of quality, held on April 15-16, 2009 in Lahore.

Brief description of the status of implementation of these individual SARs is given as follows:
