The Board of Studies in Information Technology and Multimedia (PG) which met on
28.12.2016 has resolved to revise the syllabus of M.Sc. Information Technology and Multimedia
(PG) as Flexible CBCS regulation has implemented from the Academic year 2017-18.
The Faculty of Science and Technology and the Academic Council at their Meetings held
on 03.03.2017 and 30.03.2017 respectively have approved the above said proposal and the
same is notified.
The Revised syllabus of M.Sc. (IT) Course is annexed herewith.

Title of the course:Master of Science in Information Technology
Regulations: The existing regulations governing the Postgraduate Degree (Science) courses of
the University of Mysore are applicable to this course.
Eligible for admission:B.Sc degree with Computer Science or Mathematics as one of the
optional/ Any degree with Diploma in Computer Application/ B.C.A/ B.Tech/ B.E in any discipline
with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST and Cat-1). The selection of
candidates for this course will be based on an entrance test.

Project
The project should be undertaken preferably individually or by the group of maximum 3students
who will jointly work and implement the project. The candidate/group will selecta project with
the approval of the Guide (staff member) and submit the name of the projectwith a synopsis of
the proposed work of not more than 02 to 08 pages within one month ofthe starting of the
semester. The candidate/ group is expected to complete detailed systemdesign, analysis, data
flow design, procurement of hardware and/or software,implementation of a few modules of the
proposed work during the semester IV as a partof the term work submission in the form of a
joint report.Candidate/group will submit the completed project work to the department at the
end ofsemester IV as mentioned below.

2) The project report in the bound journal complete in all respect with the following : -
