How to Create a Merit Application & Apply to Open Positions at the

University of Iowa

Getting Started Go to https://jobs.uiowa.edu/

Select “Register” to create a Username and Password.(upper right hand corner of the home screen)

*Remember your username and password, as it will be your only access to your account.

Getting Started Select the “Complete the Merit Application Setup”

link.

Merit Application Information

You are responsible for maintaining the correctness of the following information: Username and password Name Address Phone number (both daytime and primary) Work history Skills, licenses and certifications

Any changes after the application has been submitted, may take our staff 1-2 working days to review and approve your information.

Application To Do List Select the first required section, “Complete and Review General

Application.”

Merit Applicant Information Select “Edit” under Applicant Information section.

Fill in required information. Select “Continue” to proceed forward. Edit each of the following sections until the general application is

complete.o Educationo Work/Volunteer Experienceo Licenses and Certificationso Publications and/or Achievementso Veteran Status

Application To Do List Choose “Select Skills” to complete the final portion of the Application To Do

List.

Merit Skills

Merit Skills Select all skills that meet the criteria listed and provide the necessary

information.

Select “Save Skills” at the bottom of the page. If none applies, select “Continue, None of the Above.”

Application To Do List Select “Continue” once the required sections have been completed.

Submitting the Application Read the statement. Select “Yes, I have read and agree to the above statement” Select “Submit My Application.”

Submitting the Application Look for the below message when you have completed the application

process.

How to Apply for a Job Select the “Req #” of the position you are interested in reviewing.
