Housing in Copenhagen
• The housing application process in Copenhagen can be

• Because housing is in great demand, prices have gone
up in Copenhagen as in other major international cities.
Most rooms in Copenhagen cost between DKK 5,000 -
8,000 per month.
*With the current exchange rate this is approximately
$800 - $1275.
UCPH Housing Foundation
• The UCPH Housing Foundation assists international
students coming to UCPH in finding
accommodations in Copenhagen.
• Independent entity – NOT part of the International
Office at UCPH.
• UCPH Housing Foundation website:
http://housingfoundation.ku.dk/
Applying for Housing • You will receive an invitation to apply in the online housing booking system.
• The invitation will be sent to your email address listed in MyEAP.
Spring semester invitations will be sent out mid to late November.
• The Housing Foundation will send an email notification before invitations are
sent out.
• Enter the booking system right after receiving the invitation from the UCPH
Housing Foundation. The system works on a first come-first served basis and
options go quickly.
• It is not possible to request a specific housing option. You are required to
choose between the available options shown in the booking system.
• There is a booking fee of DKK 600 (approx. $95) to book housing through the
UCPH Housing Foundation online system.

commitment with the Housing Foundation.
• It is extremely important that you read your contracts thoroughly.
Consult with your parents if they are helping to fund your housing.
Housing Online Booking System Step 3 – Payment
• Payment deadlines o ALL students, including those on financial aid, will be required
to pay their first installment (600 DKK booking fee + 1 month’s
rent + 8,000 DKK deposit) within 14 days of making the booking.

your booking you will also have to pay for an additional 3 months’ rent no later than the start date of your housing
contract.
o Your payment will also include a monthly service contract fee
of app. 40 USD.

payment with a credit or debit card.
