NEW for Apply 2014 entry• Improved on screen text to ensure that the applicant enters their name as it

appears in their passport.• Extend applicant name fields in Apply to enable applicant to enter their name as it

appears in their passport.• In UCAS Apply validate and inform applicants that they must enter either

qualifications and/or work experience in their application.• Improve the search facility the applicant uses when searching for their

qualifications to make the search more interactive and reduce the need for the applicant to enter their qualifications as free text.

• Personal statement in Apply to be a minimum of 1,000 characters before Clearing.• Allow amendments to personal statements in Extra.• To support UKBA requirements applicants will be asked if they have previously

studied in the UK on a student visa.• Allow UCAS and CUKAS applicants in Apply and Track to upload supporting

documents as proof of their identity, for the 2014 year of entry this will be limited to scanned images of passports. In future years this will be extended to other forms of identity, proof of qualifications and proof of ability (eg pictures, photographs, video etc).
