Universal Contacts for Smart Wearable Applications The challenge Connectivity inside a compact size smart wearable device such as wristband and smart watch is a challenge to hardware design engineers. As the space is limited and the circuitry amperage is extremely low, a unique small form-factor pressure contact with low contact resistance is required. The solution ITT’s Universal Contact series is a singular stamped and formed interconnect which exhibits over 0.3N contact force with only 0.1mm of deflection. The innovative “pre-load” design results in superior hertz forces producing low contact resistance ensuring clear and stable connectivity. Coupled with 300k PSI and a defined wiping action when deflected, the Universal Contact provides the ultimate dry circuit pressure contact for smart wearable devices, applications being battery, grounding and antenna pick-up interconnects.
