FACILITY: PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION SUBJECT: SUMMARY OF PUBLIC MEETING On May 1, 2014, at 6:00 pm, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a formal meeting at the Radisson Hotel Plymouth Harbor in Plymouth, MA. The NRC conducted a formal meeting and a question and answer portion to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for 2013. A notice of the public meeting was issued on April 8, 2013, and was posted on the NRC’s external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRC’s Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML14098A316. • While Entergy operated Pilgrim in a manner that preserved public health and safety, performance deficiencies were identified that led to the plant being in the degraded cornerstone column of the action matrix.

• The resulting action is increased oversight including a 95002 supplemental inspection.
