MEETING SUMMARY
LICENSEE: ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC. FACILITY: PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION SUBJECT: SUMMARY OF PUBLIC MEETING On May 1, 2014, at 6:00 pm, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a formal meeting at the Radisson Hotel Plymouth Harbor in Plymouth, MA. The NRC conducted a formal meeting and a question and answer portion to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for 2013. A notice of the public meeting was issued on April 8, 2013, and was posted on the NRC’s external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRC’s Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML14098A316. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The NRC presented fact sheets, reading material, and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2013, as documented in our letter dated March 4, 2014 (ADAMS Accession No. ML14059A297). The NRC fact sheets and reading material included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP). Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station can be found on the NRC's web site at: www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/index.html. Members of the public, local officials, State officials, and members of the media attended the public meeting and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Pilgrim’s performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
