Facility Updates Kelley Fitness Center Closure for Annual Deep Cleaning July 3

Kelley Fitness Center, all day. DSN 430-7136 / CIV 0711-680-7136.

Military Personnel Division (MPD) closures July 3

Central Processing Facility (CPF) customer service desk will be open to give in/out processing information, but there will be no classes held this day.

Personnel Services Branch (PSB) – Closed Passports – Closed – Clearing will occur at the CPF Office in Building 2913. ID Cards/DEERS will be open but with reduced capacity. Army Substance Abuse Programs (ASAP) – No appointments. Panzer Education Center – Closed

Patch Main Gate Maintenance July 3 Outbound traffic will be routed to exit through the K&K alternate gate from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 5:30 p.m. Follow MP Direction for traffic routes for entry and exit. Construction outside Patch Main Gate Begins July 19 Construction on the side of Katzenbachstraße will occur up to the pedestrian crossing at the main gate, in front of the footpath on the right side. The footpath on the right side of Patch Main Gate will be closed through completion in September.

Panzer Back Gate Closed The back gate will re-open with the school schedule at the end of August. Parking/Fitness Center Closures for Special Events

June 29 to July 5 on Patch Barracks – Independence Day Celebration: Parking blocking will begin at midnight in the Husky Field area and in front of the Patch Fitness Center. July 2-5, parking is blocked at the Chapel.

July 3-5 on Panzer Kaserne – Change of Command: Two rows of parking at the east end of the Exchange parking lot (closest to Bldg. 2913) will be blocked. The Panzer Fitness Basketball court will be closed as the inclement weather site.

July 10-12 on Patch Barracks – Change of Command: The Patch Fitness Center basketball court will be closed as the inclement weather site. Parking at Washington Square, the Fitness Center and Swabian Special Events Center will be blocked.

July 29 on Panzer Kaserne - Run to Remember: Parking will be blocked at the shoppette and post office areas on Panzer Kaserne. There will be no thruway after the roads are blocked for the race.

Customs Office Closure July 10 The Panzer Kaserne office will be closed from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for an event. JAMII Room Closure The Kelley Barracks community room closed for construction in the building through Feb. 2018.

Chaplain Family Life Center Services Suspended Services will resume upon the arrival of the new Family Life Chaplain. Requests for Chaplain support

should be directed through command channels, or by calling 07031-15-3079. The On Call Duty Chaplain is available for after-hours emergencies, and may be available to assist with

urgent needs during the duty day by calling the MP Desk at 0711-680-5262.

School Sports Fields Use, Parking Not Permitted Reminder to all community members, DODEA schools tracks and fields are not open to the community. Units, registered garrison organizations and mission partners that wish to schedule training on school

grounds may request field space by completing a request form available from school administration. Individuals are not permitted to enter school grounds at any time without prior permission. Parking is not permitted at the field on Panzer Kaserne’s Stuttgart High School. The road behind the school

is for emergency vehicles and deliveries only. Food is not permitted on the turf/track. Keep the area clean of water bottles and trash.

Panzer Housing Heating Line Project

The Directorate of Public Works Engineering Division contractor has begun a multiple-phase project that will ultimately connect Panzer Housing to the district heat lines from the City of Böblingen. Plans will be communicated to any residents impacted 2 weeks out. Work should not affect traffic.

Projected through 2018. Kelley Barracks Hotel is Open

Kelley Barracks Sewer Repair Project Detours and blocking signage will be marked on Kelley Barracks to complete a 3-year sewer line project by 2019. Kelley Barracks Subway Restaurant Facility Construction Extended The new Subway restaurant facility construction next to the Cantina on Kelley Barracks is in progress. Parking areas are blocked until completion estimated by Sept. 2017. Patch Barracks Sidewalks Repair of sidewalks and stairs connecting to Florida Straße near Buildings 2406, 2411, and 2447 goes through July 2017. Robinson Barracks Elementary School Gym closed Due to a structural failure, the school gymnasium is closed. The gym is scheduled to re-open in the new school year, Sept. 2017.

Monthly Highlights Library Summer Reading Program

Every Thursday from 1 - 3 p.m., children enrolled in the Summer Reading Program can visit the Patch or Robinson Barracks library to get their paper log stamped, receive their weekly reading prize, and create a Reading By Design related craft. Everyone must also log all of their minutes spent reading, via the Summer Reading website (where you registered). A Summer Reading Wrap-Up party is set for August 3 from 1 - 3 p.m. on Patch, where all children, teens, and adults who were registered for the program will be eligible to win prizes.

Patch Barracks Husky Field, 5-11 p.m. Schedule of events: 10 a.m. – Tailgating grill zone opens – until space runs out. 5 p.m. - Child Youth

Services is hosting a patriotic parade accompanied by live music - Come dressed in your best patriotic outfit. Following the parade will be a Vietnam Veteran Pinning Ceremony to give thanks and a lasting memento to those living veterans who served during the Vietnam War period. Through the evening there will be games and amusement rides for children of all ages. Enjoy food and drink items for purchase, plus live entertainment including jazz and rock performances.

Parking: Blocking for event set-up will begin at the fitness center and Husky Field areas July 1. On July 4, for your and your vehicle’s protection, MP’s will block off the majority of the parking area Washington Square– where the fireworks are setup. People are encouraged to carpool, take the duty bus or arrive early if you plan to park on Patch for the events.

The Duty Shuttle Bus will be running on a normal holiday schedule meaning the last shuttle bus to Patch Barracks departs from other installations at approximately 6 p.m. (check the schedule at bus stop locations or online). There will be 3 return shuttle buses available at the end of the fireworks departing Patch at about 11:15 p.m.

No personal fireworks including sparklers allowed on-post at any time.

July 5 Installation Staff Meeting - CANCELLED THIS MONTH Get a Grip: Coping with Stress and Anger

On July 13 the lesson is conducted on the golf course to help youngsters learn the rules and etiquette. July 29 Run to Remember 5k/Half marathon

Panzer Fitness Center, Panzer Kaserne, 7:15 a.m. In honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in battle. Registration costs: June 5 – July 16: $15 for

individual, $40 for family; July 17 – 23: $20 for individual, $50 for family. Categories: Overall (1st, 2nd, 3rd) Female; Overall (1st, 2nd, 3rd Male); Overall (1st, 2nd, 3rd); Team 1st (minimum of 3 participants). July 31 Toddlers in the Park Playgroup

Robinson Barracks Playground, Building 168, 10 a.m. – Noon Parents and children have the opportunity to socialize and connect with others in their community. Open to

parents with children ages 0 - 5. Older siblings are welcome to attend. Developmentally age appropriate games and activities arranged.

Near Panzer Kaserne, Drop off begins at 8 a.m., Pick-up 4 p.m. Girls learn: to set up and tear down tents, build a fire, cook in the outdoors, purify water, sing songs,

campfire skits, outdoor games, arts and crafts. They will also learn to create trails and follow them, but most important, they will learn to build relationships with their sister girl scouts.

Day camp cost is $100 for the week. Sibling discounts and volunteer discounts offered. Overnight scheduled Aug. 3 Opportunities for non-registered girls who are completing kindergarten or older. To pre-register go to
