Teaching Contents Analysis This lesson is the first one of the unit, consistin
g of four parts: 1. Warming up, 2. Reading and Comprehension ,3.Discussion ,4 Consolidation. The text is the most important teaching material in this lesson, which extends the main topic “The Olympic Games” and contains most of the vocabulary and grammar points that students should learn in this unit.
This is an interesting and familiar topic for Ss. By learning the similarities and differences between the Ancient and Modern Olympic Games, they are expected to know more about the Olympics and feel more proud of being Chinese.
Teaching aims1. Train the students’ speaking and reading ability;2. Get students to learn something from the spirit of the Olympic Games and the athletes
1).Knowledge goals: a. Enable Ss to listen to, read, and use the new

b.Teach Ss why Countries compete to host the Olympics to stimulate their love for China, thus encourage them to make great contributions to improving the international position of China in future.
