1868 - 14th Amendment all persons born in the U.S. (Indians?) are citizens and entitled equal rights regardless of race, rights protected by due process of the law

1870 - 15th Amendment granted black men the right to vote

1870 - President Grant signed act to re-admit TX

1876 - The Constitution of 1876 is adopted (Constitution we use today)
