MICROBES EAT HYDROCARBONS IN OIL
What are hydrocarbons? What type of bond is in a hydrocarbon? What are the electrons doing in this bond?
• How many valence electrons does carbon have?
• How many more electrons does carbon need to make a full shell?
• Carbon can make four bonds and this allows it to make long chains of hydrocarbons.
