College Uniform

Students in uniform represent the College. They are to ensure their appearance reflects the standards of the College and that their behaviour and interaction with the public is exemplary.

The College uniform code is printed at the front of the College Diary.

All items of the College uniform are exclusively available through the Uniform Shop.

All Students Sports Uniform

• Navy College sports shirt• Navy College shorts• College Sports cap• Navy College tracksuit pants• Navy College sports jacket• White socks – (above ankle height-foldable)• White lace up sport shoes – not canvas slip-on shoes• College sports cap• Appropriate sporting footwear should be worn.

It should offer arch and ankle support.• During Term 2 and 3 the full tracksuit must be worn to and from school.

Note: Students representing the College on any formal occasion, for example, Opening College Mass, Learning progress meetings, Presentation nights, Graduations, etc. are expected to be in full school uniform including the College blazer.

COLLEGE UNIFORM CODE: GENERAL UNIFORM

JEWELLERY

Jewellery is not to be worn except for the following:

• Earrings: girls may wear one pair of plain gold or silver studs or sleepers in the lower part oftheir ear. Plastic studs are not acceptable.

• Boys are not permitted to wear earrings or clear plastic studs.• Other forms of body piercing are not permitted as part of the College Uniform Code including

eyebrow piercings and nose rings/studs.• Rings: students may wear one small ring, appropriate for wearing with school uniform.• If a chain is worn, it should be worn inside the school shirt so as not to be seen. This includes

chains displaying religoius iconography.• No bracelets or anklets are to be worn.

HAIR

• Hair styles are expected to be reasonably conservative and guided by common sense.Unacceptable styles include undercuts, “tails”, steps, lines, number 1. This list is not exhaustive.

• Hair should be of a natural, conservative colour. No excessive or obvious use of gel or inappro-priate styling for example : braiding with beading.

• In complying with OHS legislation, girls’ hair which is longer than collar-length must be tied upand back and secured with a blue or white ribbon or clip.

• For boys, hair is to be neat, tidy, off the ears and no longer than collar-length. It should be of aconsistent length or blended. Fringes should be of a conservative length.

• If you have any doubts, please discuss it with the House Coordinator or Dean of Pastoral Carefirst. In the final instance, decision on whether a hairstyle is appropriate for school will be at thediscretion of these members of staff. Students may be sent home for breaches.

SCHOOL BAGS

All students are to have a College bag and College sport bag. Students are to purchase and use the College sports bag for carrying sports gear and other additional items to school and for use on excursions. During the school day, all school bags are to be stored in lockers.

OTHER• Make-up is NOT permitted to be worn at school.

Students will be asked to remove make up.• Fake eyelashes and eyelash extentions are not permitted.• For safety reasons, nails are to be kept short.

Nail polish is not permitted.• Boys are to be clean shaven each day. If unshaven, they will be sent to the office to shave.• Visible tattoos are not permitted, including temporary tattoos and henna tattoos.

STATIONERY Stationery items can be purchased in the uniform shop. Calculators, Bibles, USBs, exercise books etc.

UNIFORM FITTINGS

Uniform fittings will take place by appointment only for new students in December and January for summer uniforms and March and April for winter uniforms. Year 10 students going into senior uniform in Term 4 will be fitted at the end of Term 3. Fitting times and appointment booking instructions will be published in the Rosebank College Gazette Newsletter.
