1 Introduction The Unified Intel Learning Series Suite is a package which can integrate all Intel

Learning Series software stacks as consolidated package. Each Intel Learning Series

software stacks installation, upgrade and uninstall progress has wrapped UI for

unified installation. The UIS can instead of 10+ installation files.

1.1 Main Functions Installation: Select and install Intel Learning Series software stacks easily with

little user interaction.

Upgrade: Select and upgrade Intel Learning Series software stacks which has installed easily with little user interaction.

Uninstall: Select and uninstall Intel Learning Series software stacks which has installed easily with little user interaction.

Notes:

Please do not install any Intel Learning Series package when UIS is running.

1.2 System Requirement Running environment for UIS is Win7 Pro/HB/Starter SP1 32bit.

The software can only install and launch in Intel powered classmate PC.

2 Operation Guide Double click the application program (The default name is UISSelfExtractor.exe)

and the software will extract the packages. UIS self-extractable file need

administrator privilege.

During the extraction process, user should not turn off computer.

Notes:

1 If current user has administrator privilege, the main UI will pop up directly.

Otherwise, User Account Control message box will pop up, please click Yes, then the

main UI will launch up.

2 If popup the following dialog, another UIS has launched already. Close it and try

again.

3 The UIS self-extractable file will check whether there is any Intel Learning Series

software package installed in this machine automatically. If there is one, UIS will

display Upgrade UI, otherwise will display Installation UI.

2.1 Installation Step 1: This screen displays the User License Agreement UI after the extraction.

User should accept the License Agreement. Then click Next button.

When user clicks Cancel button in any UI, there will be the following dialog, user can

choose Ok or Cancel to decide to go on or close it.

Step 2: Check the checkboxes to select at least one package user wants to install.

Click Next button to view the details.

Notes:

1 The list shows the information of the packages including name, version, and

required space.

2 Some packages depend on other packages. If user checks such one, the UIS will

check the dependencies automatically and will popup the following dialog to notify

user.

3 Education Desktop and the Quick Launcher cant install at the same time. If one is

checked, the other one will be cancelled automatically, and will popup the following

dialog.

Step 3: Click Install button to install the selected packages.

Notes:

The comments list shows the reasons that some packages cannot install. There is

description of the comments in the Appendix 1, user can refer to it.

Step 4: During the installation process, user should not turn off computer.

Notes:

The following dialog will popup if user has selected some packages which need

restart the computer. User need to save all work before time is over. User can also

click Restart now button directly.

Step 5: Just click Finish button to complete the installation. Then a dialog will pop up

showing whether restart the computer, please click OK button to restart.

2.2 Upgrade Step 1: This screen displays the option to upgrade or uninstall after the extraction.

Choose the Upgrade and click Next button.

Step 2: This screen displays the User License Agreement UI after the extraction.

Step 3: Check the checkboxes to select at least one package user want to upgrade.

Notes:

2 The Total Required Space shows how much space these packages totally need.

3 Some packages depend on other packages. If user checks such one, the UIS will

user. User should click OK button and the package in the dialog list will also be

installed.

Step 4: Click Install button to install the packages.

2.3 Uninstall Step 1: This screen displays the option to upgrade or uninstall after the extraction.

Choose the Uninstall and click Next button.

Step 3: A dialog will popup to notify user to uninstall these programs. Just click OK

button.

Step 4: During the uninstall progress, user should not turn off computer.

Notes:

Some dialogs will popup automatically during uninstall if user has selected to

uninstall E-Reader or Desktop Education. These dialogs will be closed automatically.

Step 5: Just click Finish button to complete uninstall. Then a dialog will popup

showing whether restart the computer, please click OK button to restart.

The About window can be accessed by clicking button from the Package Selection UI. The About window provides information about the product name,

version, and copyright information.

5 Frequently Asked Questions Q: Some packages are installed failed by UIS. What should I do?

A: If the UIS installs any package failed, we suggest user install it manually.
