Zoning: Precise temperatures in precise areas – an iSeries advantage

Inverter TechnologyInverter Technology refers to the ability of the unit to modulate the power from 10% to 130% of the nominal value. The outdoor unit inverter is matched to EC motors on the indoor units. The entire system efficiently delivers cooling or heating to the conditioned space. Simply put, this means that the unit rarely goes through on/off cycles which are when traditional HVAC units use the most power. In fact, in standby mode, the power consumption is just one watt. Additionally, this also means that the unit will reach normal operating conditions much faster, which translates to reaching the indoor target temperature much more quickly.

With the availability to have distinct, thermostatically controlled zones in your home, you make sure that you are only using the energy you need where you need it.

The Unico System ducted system can be easily zoned for individual room control, and multiple systems off of the same outdoor unit mean that the array of zoning possibilities is virtually endless.

Added to this, a high wall unit can be easiliy added — again off of the same outdoor unit — in areas outside of the original contruction path, like room additions and Florida rooms.

High SEER RatingsBecause of the inverter technology, the iSeries units will be rated by AHRI at up to 20 SEER. This means the units are incredibly energy efficient, saving you money.

Heating options mean full hot water coil for comfortable heat in the heart of winterThe iSeries works down to a temperature of -25°F, so no matter where you live, heating with this product is a great, energy efficient option.

Additionally, the ducted portion of this product line, The Unico System, allows you to use a hot water coil, making moist, complete heat with low temperature hot water supplied by a boiler, hot water heater, or air-to-water heat pump.

In some areas, the addition of an in-line electric furnace means getting a heating boost during those periods when the temperature drops. This add-on heat can help maintain your home’s comfort during extreme weather periods, but then shut themselves off during normal operating conditions.

Quiet OperationThe outdoor units run at a sound level of just 40dB, which is no louder than the sound your refrigerator makes while running.

Cold Draft PreventionIn cold weather, there are times when outdoor units may need to defrost due to ice buildup. Usually, this means a period of time where the indoor units blow cold air or shut off completely, but with iSeries, the revolutionaryColdDraftPreventionallowstheoutdoorunits to defrost while the indoor unit continues to run and blow warm air, keeping you comfortable at all times.

In partnership with Italian manufacturer, Argoclima Sp.A., Unico is proud to introduce a new multi-split line—the iSeries.

Intelligent ElectronicsThe control board on the outdoor inverter unit acts like a server in a computer network. It operates each indoor unit separately and controls each individual unit basedon demand for heat or cooling.

Advanced Freeze Protection There are several built in features that protect the unit from freezing in cold climates. First, the unit has a heater completely dedicated to prevent the compressor from freezing. It also has freeze protection on the bottom plate of the unit which also prevents the formation of ice.

Dynamic Cold Draft, an active protection system preventing the emission of air that is noticeably colder than ambient temperature during heating operation and particularly during defrost stages.

Antifreeze, this protection system prevents the formation of ice on the indoor unit heat exchanger when the system is working in cooling mode and there are particular temperature and humidity conditions.

iFEEL function, a comparative function that ensures optimum temperature settings based on the values read at the remote control sensor, the sensor in the indoor unit and the resulting ambient temperature stratification conditions, which are always different from one room to another.

Intelligent air flap control, based on operating mode, which when combined with the iFEEL function offers the maximum in comfort to counter air temperature stratification effects.

Heat exchangers in high quality copper/aluminium with inorganic hydrophilic aluminium, which does not emit odors and provides top performance in heat exchange output and efficiency.

Control BoxControl box units are designed and built to be used with SDHV (SmallDuctHighVelocity)indoor units. In this way, they can be integrated in iSeries systems, like any other indoor units. This control system brings a brand new feature for ducted indoor units: automatic control of air flow rate, according to indoor temperature set point. Why is this feature so important? The amount of air flow is always adjusted following the temperature difference between indoor spaces and setpoint. The result of this type of precise control is a very high level of comfort both in cooling and in heating operation. Control box units have three main components: main metal box, IR receiver and IR wireless controller.

Thermostat or Remote ControliSeries indoor mini-splits come standard with a thermostat remote control, which can also be mounted to a wall like a standard thermostat. The remote can be programmed to control up to four different units at once, providing the ultimate control.

Compact and LightweightInstallation of the indoor mini-split units is made easy by the compact design and light weight - The larger of the two units measures just 9”Dx39”Lx11”H and weighsonly 26 pounds.

The iSeries works great, day in and day out, but some days, you need less cooling or heating, and some days, you need quite a bit more.

The iSeries can work its inverter technology so that when you need very little, the outdoor and indoor units can work in concert to use only 10% of the electrical power needed to generate the light cooling or heating you need to stay comfortable.

However, on those days where you need additional heating or cooling to combat truly oppressive outdoor conditions, the iSeries can ramp up to over 130% (forshortperiods)of theenergyrequiredtodeliversuitableheating and cooling.

No other product on the market has this sort of dynamic technology at work.
