How many assembly lines does your factory have?four

Able to add extra assembly line?Yes, we have 1 line extra available at all times for over-flow. We have the needed physical space available to double this if sales and our customer’s requirement demand this.

How many shifts do workers work?1 shift from 7:30am-6pm, or to 9pm depends on special cases and customers rush requirements.

How many fixtures 1 line can assemble per hour?300pcs/day/line (includes 4 hours aging test). Meaning with 5 lines 1500 fixtures can be completed per shift.

How do workers know how to do the assembly work?Workers follow printed assembly instructions (SOP). Detailed and illustrated assembly instructions with required quality criteria are placed in direct view of each employee at each station according to our ISO 9001.2014 standard operating procedures.

What percentage fixtures does factory light up during the manufacturing process? And what is the cycle for on and off test?100% are lit up during the manufacturing process to ensure all are operational. In addition, we light them 4 hours on robotic conveyor belt burn racks as 80% of LED failures occur in the first 2-4 hours. Typically, 99% will pass. Those that fail are diagnosed, reworked, and reported to QC to investigate possible incoming component batch problems.

Does QC check quality criteria during the assemble process in line, after assembly process, or both?During assembly, IP QC will check on worker’s operation to make sure they are doing it correctly and the product meets our quality criteria. This is done randomly without a published schedule to ensure all keep quality in mind at all times.

What is the quality criteria for incoming components during incoming inspection?All incoming components go through incoming QC inspection to ensure it meets our quality criteria. Typically, statistical deviation methods are used according to US Mil standards. Sampling size is dependent on each com-ponent and historical quality history of each vendor.

Do you keep inventory on components or get them in as needed?We have a considerably large inventory of components. These are typically for our product that we produce on a regular basis and/or product where our customers has placed a blanket P.O. For other products we bring in components on an as needed basis.

Do you use any type of systems to ensure you have the needed components for scheduled production to meet customers expected ship dates?Yes, we use an ERP system.

How often you do a physical inventory to ensure that your counts of components are accurate?We conduct a physical inventory every month.

LUMIGHT FACTORY CAPABILITIES FAQ

What staffing levels do you have in factory, how many in RD/QC/Testing department?At our primary facility, we have approximately 300 with 10 in R&D, 20 in QC and 4 in testing laboratories. In total, we have 700 employees worldwide with 65 designers, engineers and technicians.

How many powder coating line do you have in the factory?We have 2 state-of-the-art very long high capacity powder-coat lines.

How many pieces can be coated in an hour?It depends on the size of the pieces being powder coated. However, on average we can powder coat 200 pieces per hour.

What is the thickness of the powder coat?This is dependent on our customers ‘requirements. Most often this is 50μm-100μm

With your powder coating how many hours can they be certified for in salt spray tests?This will be dependent on our customers’ requirements. Our standard is the nationally recognized 1000-hour test. However, we regularly produce product that will achieve 3000 hours.

How are your parts properly cleaned prior to powder coating.?We use both a multi-stage chemical wash and sonic vibration system to ensure a pristine surface for maximum adhesion during powder coating.

Is your powder coating line capable of doing multiple coats?We have several ways of adjusting our lines configurations to achieve a single, double or triple coating according to our customer’s requirements including the standard to exotic Base coat, primary coat and top coat formula’s offered by the leaders in suppliers of powder.

What type of testing is your facility capable of performing?We have a wide range of tests that can and are performed according to product type, industry and application. In addition to full photometric measurement capabilities the following are to most common tests we perform.

Are you capable of in-house UL?No, we prefer that our already known results be independently tested and verified by a third-party such UL, ETL, or CSA for our and our customer piece of mind.

How to certify a vendor to prior to using their products?We conduct much research before even contacting a potential vendor. We then require samples from vendors and do sample testing and factory visits to their manufacturing facilities. Then we categorize vendors as A level B and C level. We prefer to use only A level vendors. B level vendors have more stringent incoming inspection requirements. We do not use any C level vendors.

How old is this factory?We have a new factory built specifically for lighting manufacturing that is 5 years old. Our Company is 17 years.

How long the wired goods will sit in the warehouse?Less than one week.

What components brand do you use for driver and LED?Driver: mostly YG, some inventronics. LED: Citizen, Cree, Philips, Samsung. We can and very often do also customize the driver and LED brand per customers’ requests.

Plastic Injection Mold: How many Machines do you have?We have 12 plastic injection molding machines and one injection blow mold.

What is the highest tonnage plastic injection machine you have?780 tons at our primary facility. We also have instant access to additional Machines up to 1500 tons with a local partner who participates in a non-competing industry.

What is the largest plastic injection part you can produce?We can produce parts with their longest edge being approximately 50”on a daily basis. The biggest product weight is 4kg or approx 9 lbs . We also have the proper equipment to make parts as little as a few grams.

Do you do in-house tooling for your plastic injection tools?No, we send out the tooling for regular repair and maintenance to a local partner that specializes in this exacting science to maximize tool life.
