I very much look forward to welcoming you to the 13th Laryngeal and Phonosurgery Workshop organ-

ised by the Otorhinolaryngology Department of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre. The

3-days course will enable participants to learn and understand more about laryngeal disorders and the

surgical treatments as well as the upper airway ob-struction caused by the bilateral vocal fold immobil-

ity. Distinguished speakers from local who are well trained will share their knowledge and experience.

The course incorporates lecture and operative ses-sions, demonstration of office based injection laryn-

goplasty and laryngeal cadaveric hands-on to learn and practise various surgical treatments for laryn-

geal disorders. Participants also would have better understanding of the anat-

omy of the larynx and the course of the recurrent laryngeal nerve by dis-

secting the laryngeal cadaver. At the end of the course, participants would

have better perspectives in assessing and managing patients with laryngeal

disorders.
