How to choose between the degrees

Each degree has its own distinct perspective and focus, and offers different areas of study and double

degree options.

When it comes to choosing which degree is best, think about whether students would like to specialise

in a particular discipline early, or whether they would prefer to leave options open and decide later.

Two types of undergraduate courses:

Comprehensive: If you want more flexibility and the option to study a variety of areas before you focus on

a particular discipline

Bachelor of Business

Bachelor of Commerce

Specialist: If you want to study your discipline in more depth and develop specialist knowledge and skills

Bachelor of Business Specialist

Bachelor of Commerce Specialist

Bachelor of Business Administration

With our courses students can:

Undertake work-integrated learning through our network of industry partners

Choose units of study they are interested in

Use electives to study a second business or commerce major, or study a major from another

area across Monash University

Study abroad at one of our 100+ partner institutions across the globe

Participate in leadership and business-networking programs

Graduate with a degree that is recognised across the world

Choose a double degree and increase employability

Study units that lead to professional recognition or accreditation

“I chose this course because of a few factors; the Berwick campus is close to home, the ATAR was lower than other

business degrees offered at Monash, and the units compulsory to the degree are so varied that individuals can gain overall

knowledge on so many aspects in business. It has definitely helped me gain an insight into what I like and dislike, and what

my strengths and weaknesses are.”
