Distinguished attendees, I take this opportunity to welcome

you to “Invest in Bahrain 2016”.

Since meeting last year, the Government of Bahrain has been

engaged in a massive regulatory reform initiative aimed

towards empowering the private sector to be the major driving

force in our economy. The recent fluctuations in oil prices has

made economic diversification a must and the Government of

Bahrain has never been more determined to further expand its

economic diversification program, started in the 1960s. While

we welcome all investment opportunities, five sectors have

been identified as the focal drivers for our economy. These

sectors are, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Tourism, ICT

and logistics.

Over the last few years, the manufacturing sector output has

increased substantially. Today, this sector continues to grow

and constitutes the third largest segment of Bahrain’s economy

after hydrocarbons and financial services. The Government of

H.E. Zayed R. Alzayani

Minister of Industry,

Commerce and Tourism

Bahrain has provided state of the art infrastructure in industrial areas and has established

special investment and logistics clusters such as Bahrain International Investment Park,

Bahrain Investment Wharf and Bahrain Logistics Zone with easy access to air and seaports as

well as the greater GCC hinterland.

Bahrain has a well-developed aluminum industry with downstream aluminum manufacturing

occupying a significant share of the secondary sector in the economy. We are presenting

several new, high value added, investment opportunities in downstream aluminum value chain

in the 2016 edition of ‘Invest in Bahrain’ Forum along with opportunities to manufacture and

supply several fast moving parts & components for the GCC Railway network. E-Commerce

is another promising growth area with huge market potential in the MENA region; several

attractive business propositions in this sector are also being presented at the Forum.

I hope the business community in Bahrain as well as foreign investors will find the information

useful and relevant, and wish you all a successful forum.

Product Railway Elastic Fastening

Specifications

The fastening system kit consists of spring arms of the W-shaped tension clamp which

permanently clamps the rail to the sleeper by means of the dowel and the screw.

Forces are transferred to the sleeper and the ground via the angled guide plates. No

lateral tilting and deformation occurs in rail screw.

Operation A new “Stand Alone” Operation

Applications

The parts are used to connect rails and sleepers together to form the track. The

purpose of providing fittings and fastenings in railway tracks is to hold the rails in their

proper position in order to ensure the smooth running of trains and to maintain the

alignment, level and gauge of the track. The proposed machining line can produce

other high quality fasteners which are also needed in critical applications such as oil

and gas and aviation.

Product Spring Structures

Specifications

Steel springs are used for the majority of all railway vehicle types. There are several

designs applied, such as: leaf type springs, the parabolic leaf type spring, cylindrical

helical springs, flexi coil cylindrical helical spring arrangement. Springs are used in the

railway systems for tamping, stressing, shock absorbance, lifting and loading, torsion

provision.

Operation A new “Stand Alone” Operation

Applications

Leaf type springs are acting on top of the axle box to have damping effect. Helical spring

arrangement is used to create the flexi-coil effect to combine the spring function and

the guidance of the bogie frame. These springs design is widely used for locomotives.

Product Flat Wagon Assembly

Specifications

Rail wagons are unpowered railway vehicles that are used for the transportation of

cargo. A variety of wagon types are in use to handle different types of goods, but all

goods wagons in a network typically have standardized couplers and other fittings,

such as hoses for air brakes, allowing different wagon types to be assembled into

trains.

Operation A new “Stand Alone” Operation

Applications

Flat wagon is a piece of railway rolling stock that consists of an open, flat deck. It

is mounted on a pair of trucks one at each end containing four or six wheels. Train

wagons are the preferred option for land shipping due to its economics. It also used to

transfers raw materials and it can also be connected directly to the ports

Description

[Process]

The manufacturing process starts with wire-drawing process

which consists of; reducing the diameter of the Copper wire

to its final diameter. Then the wiring process takes place in

which the wires are grouped together to make conductors in

processes such as twisting and stranding. The next process

in the insulation is insulating (PVC, EPR, XLPE) cover over the

wire to prevent current leakages. Then the proses of phasing

that is used for multi core cables in which grouping of different

insulated conductors to make a multicore cable. Finally, the

quality inspection before shipping.

Applications

The precast concrete parts are used as replacement of conventional concrete casting

in site. Large portion of concrete structures can be manufactured in a factory away from

the actual construction sites. The structures thus prepared can be transported to the

site and conveniently erected. This will help in making better and uniform quality, saving

time and achieving better logistics of construction site. The complex operation in

construction site can be largely improved with adoption of precast concrete structures.

A variety of concrete shapes and sizes can be made in the precast plant which can help

Potential Opportunity:

1. Online Private Tutoring

Overview:

Private tutoring has been growing in popularity in recent years, attributing a higher demand

at a high cost per hour. As students face difficulty preparing for their school/university

duties, many refer to private tutoring as the best way to possibly comprehend and answer

their questions. Private tutoring can either take place at the comfort of students’ homes

or as a means of coordinating with the tutor with a location, yet this may not be the most

feasible method since it is time consuming getting to and from the decided upon location

for an hour or two of tutoring session. Also, students may face difficulty finding their

potential tutors based on their specialization and expertise, since it is most commonly

referred to by word of mouth. The best way to mitigate these complexities is to establish

an Online Private Tutoring / Educational website, made available to students and tutors

from all around the world

search, select and schedule an appointment with an appropriate doctor. This compliments

BRIC over the next decade, the GCC market will have to grow at an annual rate of 15 – 17

percent.
