• The 948D was moved from the FAB FMC to the SMC

based on the concept that the SMC performs the missile

and low density functions for the FAB that the FMC

previously performed.

• The Forward Support Companies (FSCs) retained

Wheeled Vehicle Mechanics (91B), Multiple Launch Rocket

System (MLRS) Repairers (94P) and Radar Repairers (94M)

maintenance capability for the battalions.

Realigning the 948D from the SMC to the MLRS, HIMARs, ADA Bn (LPWS) will enable them to maintain a high

state of readiness and provide mentorship to the Multiple Launch Rocket and Radar Repairers (94P/94M)

• ICW DA G3 USAFMSA, develop a new 92R MARC

Study that includes a DOTMLPF analysis. The

MARC study will reflect the increased packing times

from the new T-11 parachute and all

peacetime/garrison requirements that impact

packing/rigging operations.

• FDU was approved by the DFM on 25 Apr 16 and AC

organizations will have EDATEs of 16 Oct 16.

• The NG and USAR units will convert to new designs

(with fewer personnel parachutes) in FY18.

• New units activate OCT 2016

• Complete unit design for Airborne Battalion Task Force (Alaska) (initial design submitted to USAFMSA)

• Completion of design for compos 2 & 3 (different number of parachutes than compo 1)

• XVIII ABC requested emerging growth due to

perceived shortfalls to support parachute packing

mission at Fort Bragg, NC (requested 85 Soldiers).

• CASCOM in conjunction with USAFMSA conducted a

MARC Study and DOTMLPF Analysis in order to

capture all Army wartime and home station

requirements which effect parachute production.

• Analysis determined that there was a shortfall in 92R

capability and a Force Design Update was submitted

to make changes to the 92R Force Structure.

It is this combination of education in conjunction with captain or major-level KD experiences that allow officers to be effective senior multifunctional logisticians.
