One combined class will be offered for breeds and varieties of dogs that are (4) four months & under (6) six months and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in each Breed/Variety, each Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Breed/Variety winner will then complete in their respective group for First through Fourth Placements. The Miscellaneous Class Competition will be judged same as above followed by a Miscellaneous 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group Competition. The Foundation Stock Service Class Competition will be judged same as above followed by a FSS 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group Competition. All First Place Group Winners will be eligible to compete in Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show.An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed or Miscellaneous breed. FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for FSS entries.A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized.Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay.AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise.Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. NO PRACTICING ALLOWED IN RINGS AT ANY TIME.Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused.Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged.All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring.No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted.As specified in Chapter 12, Section 4 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, information contained on the entry form is required to be published in the club’s show catalog. This information is also subject to publication in other media.Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the event's Show Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to, snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.

NOTICEJUNIORS WITH A DOG ALSO ENTERED IN ANOTHER CLASS OFFERED AT THIS SHOW WHO SUBSTITUTE A DOG NOT ENTERED IN THIS SHOW MUST REMIT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP ONLY AND JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AS AN ADDITIONAL CLASS ENTRY FEE. Ramps at the sole discretion of the judge, approved breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp: Boykin Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Whippets, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows, Keeshonden & Polish Lowland Sheepdogs. (Boykin Spaniels & Whippets may be judged on the table, ramp or on the ground.)Basset Hounds & Bulldogs are expected to be judged on the ramp during breed judging.This list may be revised from time to time, and the current list can be found on the AKC website in Judging Operations. A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give reasonable notice to the Show Superintendent/Show Secretary prior to the day of the show. AKC approval is not required.Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. (In all but emergency situations, the exhibitor has no recourse. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.)

AWARDS OF MERIT ~ EACH DAYAs a thank you for the continuing support of our shows by specialty giving clubs, supported entry clubs and by the exhibitors, the Sacramento Valley Dog Fanciers Association, Inc. would like to show our sincere ap-preciation by offering Awards of Merit. It is entirely up to the judge's discretion to give out all of the available awards, only some or none of them. Awards of Merit are selected from the dogs and bitches in Best of Breed Competition, other than the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex winners. There will be a special Dark Green & Gold Rosette for each Award of Merit recipient. DAY OF SHOW PARKINGDAY OF SHOW PARKING is directly across the street from the show grounds gate, on the west side of First St. Parking is free on Friday. Note that NO ON-GROUNDS PARKING is available on Friday, except for club officials with permits issued by SVDFA. All exhibitors need to park in the lot across the street from the main entrance. Saturday & Sunday parking fee is $5.00.

UNLOADING Unloading will be allowed for 20 minutes in designated areas only after which vehicles must be moved to Day Of Show Parking area. Please cooperate.

WARNINGPlease do not leave your dog unattended at any time! If it is necessary to rescue a dog from a parked car on the show grounds, the club will not be responsible or liable for any damage to the car!

Overnight RV Parking InformationALL VEHICLES MUST BE SELF-CONTAINED. NO DISCHARGE OF WASTE/GRAY WATER ON THE GROUNDS. Overnight RV parking on grass & electrical hookups, close to rings. The overnight and day of show parking is a privilege extended by the Dixon May Fairgrounds and SVDFA. SVDFA reserves the right to withdraw this privilege from any person(s) who abuses this privilege or who uses abusive language. There will be no moving from assigned spaces nor trading of spaces without approval of the Parking Chairperson. ALL PARKING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. The show giving club assumes no responsibility or liability for damages, loss to any vehicles, its contents or dogs. Fire lanes must be kept open at all imes. Vehicles subject to towing at owner’s expense with no prior notification. No visitors will be allowed to drive their cars into the overnight reserved parking. They must walk. Reservations must have been postmarked by October 15, 2012. All reserved parking requests will be assigned upon arrival.

Electrical hookups are available; water; clean hot showers. Parking on grass close to rings. Tented rings and grooming tent.

RESERVED OVERNIGHT PARKING FEES-$37.00 PER NIGHT - TWO NIGHT MINIMUM. Unreserved overnight $42.00 per night, cash only. Tag-along vehicles $10.00 per night. NO OVERNIGHT VEHICLES IN THE LOT ACROSS FROM MAIN ENTRANCE.

Limited disability parking will be available only upon proof of a valid disabled placard or license. These spaces will provide roadway access, not closeness to rings.

All vehicles and pens must be confined to a 40' x 20' area. You may purchase an additional area if needed. Those parking together must send reservations together. Rigs longer than the stated length on reservation form will be parked at the rear of the parking area, at committee convenience.

Parking gates will be open 3:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 and 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2012. Parking gates open at 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. and after Best in Show on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Parking gate will be open 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. on Sunday, October 28, 2012. NO GENERATORS between 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. All generators must be vented away from people and dogs.

Directions to the EventsFrom Westbound I-80, take Hwy. 113 South exit. (Hwy. 113 is First Street). Dixon May Fairgrounds is on the left, one-half mile past the signal at First & A Sts. From Eastbound I-80, take “Dixon” exit east (to right). This is “A” St. At signal at First & A Sts. (2 miles), turn right onto South First St at the signal in the middle of town. Go 1/2 mile to the Fairgrounds on the left.
