ULTERION PW 203 POLYESTER COPOLYMER Ulterion PW 203 is a clear liquid of low viscosity designed with chemical characteristics which bind polyvinyl alcohol, CMC and starch to polyester substrates. Ulterion PW 203 is a polyester resin in an aqueous dispersion, containing no solvents. T YPICAL P ROPERTIES Appearance Light Amber Clear Solution Solids 25% Viscosity >50 cps. pH 7.0-8.0 Specific Gravity 1.06 Tg 5° C H ANDLING /S TORAGE S TABILITY Ulterion PW 203 should be stored between 25°C and 35°C to insure maximum shelf life. Temperatures above 95°C will cause thickening and possibly settling of the product. Store above 5°C to prevent freezing. For best results, this product should be used within six months. For spills of Ulterion PW 203, sprinkle sawdust or vermiculite over the spill area and sweep the material into approved chemical disposal containers. Back Coatings Adhesion Promoter for Latex P ERFORMANCE Ulterion PW 203 has unique properties that bind polyvinyl alcohol, CMC and starch. It should be added toward the end of the cook- up cycle. Recommended uses are 20-40% on the weight of the basic substrate used. B ACK C OATINGS Ulterion PW 203 can be used as a back coating for polyester non-wovens, carpet or fabrics. Its application can be especially helpful where recycling is an objective. It can also be used to eliminate expensive flame retardant systems in these type applications. A DHESION P ROMOTER Ulterion PW 203 can also be used to promote adhesion in acrylic latex systems. 10-20% addition to these systems is the suggested use level.
