UK’s Reporting Strategy• SAP’s Business Warehouse (BW) is the long-term solution for

reporting.

• Business Warehouse is a preferable over writing reports in the SAP online system (R/3) because of: – ease of use – snapshot or point-in-time comparisons– ability to integrate with several reporting tools (WebFOCUS, SAS, etc.) – ability to merge R/3 and non-R/3 data– ability to merge data from multiple R/3 functional areas (MM, FI, HR,

etc.) – ability to report on extensive attributes of master data (fund center,

grant, etc.)– analytic (drilldown, data pivots) and operational (lists) reports– preservation of processing speed in the R/3 system for more critical

needs such as payroll and student registration.
