What is high-oleic sunflower

Fat composition in cooking oils, g per 100 g

High-oleic (HO) sunflower is a type a sunflower which contains over 82% of Omega-9 oleic acid (monounsaturated fatty acid) and a low concentration of Omega-6 linoleic acid(polyunsaturated fatty acid). The concentration of oleic acidin HO sunflower oil exceeds that of olive oil.

HO sunflower oil consumption lowers the riskof cardiovascular disease through reductionin the ration of trans fats and saturated food.

The oil has higher resistance to heatand does not require extra hydrogenation.

The shelf life of HO sunflower oil is 5 timeslonger than that of other oils.

HO sunflower oil is resistant to oxidation, whichmakes it suitable for cooking at high temperatures.

The geographic zones will change, extreme weather will hit moreoften with sever cold followed by sudden thaw in winter and increasednumber of extra hot days in summer. Droughts and floods will beoccurring more often and become more intense in nature.

●Hydrological events:floods, landslides

●Meteorological events:cyclones, storms

●Climate phenomena:extreme temperatures,droughts, wildfires
