BOGIE BRAKE STATIONSFaiveley Transport offers a full portfolio of very robust tread brake and compact disc brake solutions, facilitating integration on tight bogies and easy maintenance, while ensuring optimised stress absorption even with clamping force per disc greater than 100kN. Moreover, Faiveley Transport’s compact C3 disc brake units are compatible with any disc mounting solution (axle, wheel or flange mounted) and give the best possible trade-off between service and parking brake units.Robust – compact – easy integration

COMPACT BRAKE CONTROLFaiveley Transport deploys all its expertise to deliver smart control of the complete braking system up to the energy dissipation into the friction pairs at each bogie. Our unique “pneumatronic” controls the brake either at the level of each car (EPAC LITE) or each bogie (MATRIC). Passenger care being the absolute priority, the Safety brake is always operated in a purely pneumatic mode, without influence from software and electronics thus avoiding any risk of error. In 2011, Alstom Transport awarded Faiveley Transport to supply the Brake System solution for the 168 cars of the Chennai metro in India. Out of the 42 trains to be produced by Alstom, 9 were planned to be made in Brazil and the remaining 33 in India.Faiveley has always expressed a strong will to follow the customer in every complex project, like it was the case for Chennai. The brake system of the first 42 trains was developed in Europe, integrated in South America and then produced in a serial mode in India.Even if the brake system was designed in Europe, Faiveley had anticipated the localization of serial production by supplying Indian equipments from the beginning.Based on its worldwide production sites, Faiveley Transport has always been able to support Alstom in every phase of this project, in Europe, in South America and as well in India. The support was provided by local resources and local production. A transfer of competence was done for the brake equipment from Europe to India.As a brake system expert Faiveley always took care about local environmental conditions and proposed quality products with a strong validation plan based on real tropical conditions.
