In Western Australia, UGL was able to work with BHP Billiton to help fabricate and install equipment associated with coarse stockpile, secondary crushing, scalping and product screening and interconnection conveyors. This project began in 2012 and reaffirmed UGL’s long history in the iron ore industry.

The Cairns City Council in Cairns, QLD, Australia called upon UGL to help them increase capacity and enhance the treatment of wastewater from their wastewater treatment plants. The project included major upgrades on four of the largest wastewater treatment plants in Cairns.

UGL and Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions took on Transpower NZ LTD as a joint venture to construct a new 186km 400kV overhead transmission line and 426 new transmission towers between Whakamaru and Brownhill Road in southeast Auckland, New Zealand. This power project is just one of many UGL has been apart of.

Having history and experience in the locomotive and rail industry, UGL was able to support the growth goals of Xstrata in Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia. This led to a 10-year maintenance agreement to support Xstrata’s ongoing fleet operations.

By being a versatile service provider, UGL is contracted to demolish an existing stadium in Singapore and build a new 35-hectare Sports hub to operate on a 25 year lease. This includes integrated facilities management and lifecycle management of the existing and new stadium.
