Summer Camps
IMPORTANT!! SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION:*Afternoon half-day camps are discounted 10%
when also registered for morning camp the same week.
1. As with all programs, summer camps will not run unless enough kids are pre-registered. Sign-up NOW to avoid cancellations!2. Please pack a bag lunch, sunscreen, water, as well as clothing appropriate to the day’s activities and weather. Note we are a “nut free” facility. 3. Pro-rating is available for some summer camp programs if you are not able to at-tend every day of a week-long camp. Must be pre-arranged.4. Summer Camp BURSARIES are available. RELIC SURF CAMP IN JULY Age 8-13No experience required! Join Relic Surf School for 3 full days of surfing! Learn about surf etiquette and ocean conditions all the while having a ton of fun in the water! When out of the water, chill out with Nick Holatko, our Parks & Rec Summer Coordinator for some games and other fun activities. For children that already know how to surf, advancement sessions will be offered.
No surf experience necessary but must be able to swim.

MINI RELICS SURF CAMP Age 5-7Come out and play in the ocean with Relic Surf School! Have fun boogie boarding and surfing with our talented and knowledable instructors who can help advance your child into the world of surfing. We run this camp on a ratio of 4 children to 1 instructor due to the age range.
No surf experience necessary but must be able to swim.

SCIENCTIFIC EXPLORATION & ADVENTURE CAMP Age 7-13New this summer! Join Nick, the Mad Scientist, and hop on the Magic School Bus as we take a scientific look at the natural environment that surrounds us. Join our local Biologists as we take part in a marine dissection, help protect the local Big Beach habitat and plant trees, journey to a local farm and trek through the temperate rainforest in search of our little amphibian friends. We will learn the methods behind wacky experiments, put theories to the test and make observations. Have you ever made rock candy, cooked a hot dog using only the sun or made an egg bounce? Find out how, along with many more crazy experiments as we take chances, make mistakes and get messy! All you need is a keen sense of curiosity and a thirst for adventure!

PERFORMING ARTS & DANCE CAMP Age tots-teensWe are very pleased to offer a Performing Arts & Dance camp this summer! Gabrielle Springett will be back to offer ballet classes and Kindermusik (tots). Also, GLEE coaches Sarah Hogan & Courtney Fick will be taking you on a magical mystery tour of musical theatre and voice. Guest instructors will also be joining us in the areas of drama, dance and musical percussion.
If there is enough registration, there may be additional music and theatre options. On Friday evening we will cap it off with a mini-recital for parents, friends and family. This is sure to be another fabulous year for this popular camp so be sure to register early and reserve your spot!

EZRA SOCCER CAMP Ages 3-18Ezra’s summer soccer clinic focuses on all parts of the game, on and off the field. Practice and improve your soccer skills in preparation for next season! ES Academy is an advanced program for serious players looking to hone their skills in an environment with players of a similar skill level. This is a high intensity program which challenges the player to reach their next level of ability. ES Academy camp will be coached by a higher-level coach and kids age 9-14 can choose to attend regular classes or the ES Academy classes.

STAINED GLASS MAGIC* Age 7-13Create several special projects using the medium of glass. In this 4 day camp, you will design a multi-coloured orca whale stepping stone, fused glass wave windchime and an octopus suncatcher. You will learn how to cut and grind glass, solder metal and the basics in mosaic techniques and kiln fusing.
Nancy is joining us from Courtenay so be sure to register by July 18th

RETRO WEEK CAMP* Age 7-13Retro Week is back taking another blast to the past! Join Nick in some afternoon fun with back to the 80’s roller skating and visit the 70’s by learning some killer tie-dying skills. Take an even further step back to the 1800’s as we bake bread over a camp fire and churn our own butter! Go wild on the slip n’ slide and play tons of fun games in this vintage-inspired 4-day camp!
Anyone registered for the Retro Week Camp will have free admittance to the Summer Sleepover! (see bottom of page for details)

WEST COAST NATURE KIDS - WOLVES Age 7-13This camp encourages exploration and deep nature connection. Develop your survival skills building shelters, tracking animals, listening to bird language and identifying plants. The practice of a “sit spot” will be introduced. Participate in teamwork and confidence building excercises such as creating obstacle courses and playing games. Songs, storytelling and daily nature walks. Expect to laugh, play and get muddy!

MOVIE MAGIC! Summer Film Camp Ages 8-15Movie Magic Film Camp is back for another summer of movie-making madness! In this hands-on program, kids will create animated claymation movies, music videos and short films with props, acting and special effects! The camp will conclude with an awards afternoon & special screening for family and friends.

RELIC SURF CAMP IN AUGUST Age 8-13Just in case you couldn’t do the July suft camp, we are offering one in August too! Or maybe you just loved it so much that you are doing both. SURF N’ TURF BBQ with Chef Andrew SpringettFormerly the Executive Chef at Black Rock Resort, Andrew Springett is a veteran chef with over 20 years of experience to his credit. He has trained and worked side by side with some of Canada’s most illustrious chefs in laudable restaurants such as Bishop’s, North 44, and The Metropolitian. Chef Springett has also represented Canada at the Bocuse d’Or competition in France in 2003 and was part of the team that won gold at the 2000 World Culinary Olympics in Germany. NEW!STAINED GLASS WORKSHOP Age 16+This is an introductory workshop designed to give you the basics of creat-ing beautiful stained glass. The course covers glass cutting techniques for safe and accurate glass cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering techniques. Through demonstration and a hands-on component, you will make a starfish suncatcher to take home and showcase. Instruction by glass artist Nancy Morrison who will be joining us from the Comox Valley. Nancy has over 30 years experience working with the medium of glass. Join her for a unique, hands-on workshop that will inspire you creatively!
Must have a minimum of 4 students for this class to run!
