System Requirement

Server

Pentium II 300MHZ or above At least 500 MB harddisk spaces 64 Ram memory and above 10 /100 mbps base network card 10 /100 mbps base hubs / Switch (8 /16/24 ports) UTP cable (RJ 45) or BNC cable USB port

Workstation

Pentium II 300MHZ or above 16 Ram memory and above At least 500 MB harddisk spaces 10 /100 mbps base network card

UBS Software

This note covers for those users only install version 9.0 dated 15 September 2003 or above


Check List

Is the LAN card (Ethernet Card) already installed into the system?

Is the network cabling install properly Which version of Operating Systems (OS) installed in your

computer Installed TCP/IP protocol? Is the correct Smart Lock plugged in firmly? Is UBS system fully installed ? Changed the LAN setting in UBS Menu? Able to find the server contents through workstation? Ever try to install on another computer to do the test? What do you see in the UBS Login Menu?


WIN 95 /98 /ME Installation

In server

Make sure the network protocol ‘TCP/IP’ have been properly installed. In UBS windows version , you can remove the ‘Netbeui’ protocol.

Install UBS windows version Share the UBS program folder in windows explorer as full access right.(eg

ubsacc90) Tick setting button after click on UBS system

Select windows 95 or 98 button Click on “Add USBSERVER2K.EXE” to the Startup Group” then press OK

Activate USB service in startup folder (click Start Programs Startup USB lan)


WIN 95 /98 /ME Installation

UBS WINDOWS Version 9.0 (cont/ …)

In workstation

- For every workstation install the UBS program into local drive eg C:- Drag the shortcut from server as target name \\Servername\ubsacc90\daccount.exe- In UBS multi company table create as below.

EXAMPLE: Company Name Directory

ABC \\Servername\ubsacc90\abc\- For the report directory please set as \\servername\ubsacc90\reports\


WINDOWS NT 4.x Server / Nt Workstation Installation

USB key does not support on windows Nt operating system , because Nt system didn’t build in the USB plug & play device.


Windows 2000 Server/Pro ,Windows XP Home/Pro installation

UBS Windows Version 9.0

In Server

1) Make Sure the computer/Server MUST be network-connected condition.

2) Network protocol “TCP/IP” must be installed (Control Panel Network)

3) Plug-in the UBS USB Lan Lock into the USB port , this will depend on computer has such USB connection . No additional driver install and it will auto detect.

4) Installing UBS Software accordingly.

5) Next, you can click on UBS system, select Setting button.

Select either one of the Windows 2000 Server, Windows Professional or Windows XP

Click on “USB LAN Registration Version 1.0”

6) After finish the installation, make sure you have highlighted the UBS folder and click File Sharing under Windows Explorer to share UBS folder to the correct user with FULL rights under Permissions.

7) Select Program Administrative Tools Services

8) Double click on “USBLAN_Ldr”




9) Click on Start button and press OK button after the step done

10) The next will prompt the dialog box , select Yes button




11) If the system prompt below, the installation is successful.

Error code

This message (refer to diagram below) indicates UBS system cannot detect the correct software for USB devices.

Solution : - You have to pluck the correct USB into the USB port
