Dr. Liz Odera, Coordinator of the Annual Lang’ata Youth Soccer League a project of Sadili Oval’s Sports for Life Programme, P. O. Box 8477-00100 Nairobi www.sadili.com • [email protected]

The league aims at bringing together the global community in supporting the needs of 1200 children and youth in Nairobi-Kenya, East Africa. This event says “NO” to anger and ethnic violence and war that has wrecked the lives of many in our region, and more recently, during the post-election period in Kibera in our constituency of Lang’ata. We aimed to build bridges across communities: understanding that we are one world, irrespective of color, race, ethnicity, income level and religion by:

3. Poor environmental consciousness.

4. Low self esteem.

5. Inadequate knowledge and attitude on HIV-AIDS.

6. Lack of skills, and therefore many are incapable of being employed in better jobs. A vast majority provide unskilled labour within city’s industries, or in building construction sites in the city.
