Tyco Mechanical Cad Library Help Manual

1. General information With the TYCO Mechanical CAD Library, you can generate and handle TYCO-articles in different 2D- or 3D-File formats for your own CAD-application, e.g. AutoCAD.

For example you can configure yourselves in our channelconfiguration menus, on the basis known nominal sizes, the channel which corresponds to your requirements.

In addition it is possible with some articles to change the length manually.

Bills of material can be generate with the integrated BOM-generator-function directly out of the library.

2. Systemrequirements In order to be able to use the TYCO Mechanical CAD Library, you need a PC with the following equipment:

Operating System: Windows ME/NT/98/2000/XP/Vista CPU: Minimum Pentium II with 500 MHz RAM: Minimum 512 MB RAM Resolution: Minimum 1024x768 Px

3. Menu - Item "File"

3.1 File - New

With this option you provide a new Bill of material (BOM). The Bill of material up-to-date in the memory is overwritten thereby (Menu - Button ).

3.2 File - Open

Here you can load and process an already generated and stored Bill of material (Menu - Button ).

3.3 File - Save

Store your current Bill of material with this menu point (Menu - Button ).

3.4 File - Save As... Hereby you store the Bill of material up-to-date in the memory. Indicate to the desired file names and memory location. A iff-File (Interchange File Format) is provided.

3.5 File - Export BOM Export the current Bill of material (quantity, partnumber and description of article).

3.6 File - Generate CAD - 3D

Generate the selected article in the adjusted 3D-format (Menu - Button ). You are requested to start the CAD-application, which was selected in the attitudes (see "File - Generate CAD - Settings").

3.7 File - Generate CAD - 2D

Here you arrive at the 2D-CAD-expenditure. In the self-opening window, you are able to export the selected article or the own configuration in the 2D-format adjusted. (Menu - Button ). (see point 7.2 "Toolbar - 2D")

3.8 File - Generate CAD - Settings

With this menu option you have the possibility to select amongst others the different CAD-formats for 2D- and 3D-export (Menu - Button ).

Select the desired format in the respective field. With "Options" you are able to make further attitudes, like for example to the line-thick or line-color. In addition you have the possibility to select the desired language and to engage or disengage a 3D-coordinate system.

4. Menu - Item "View"

Here you can adapt the user interface to your requirements by fading in or out different freely positionable representation windows. You have the choice between the windows "selection" and "3D preview". With pressed left mouse button it's possible to slide the current window. The single windows can be loosened from the main window by doubleclick on the frameworks.In addition the symbolbar as well as the statusbar can be faded in or out at this point.

4.1 View - Selection Choose with the TYCO Mechanical CAD Library the necessary articles or configurations selects, from the TYCO-product range

Function to customize the viewer, by docking or replacing the window.

Minimize or maximizing of the 3D-preview window.

Zoom function for size adjustment of the 3D preview

Window - Possibility to mark a cutout from the 3D-preview, with the left mouse button, for the increased representation of details All - Function to adapt the preview of the 3D-object, to the size of the preview window In/Out - Incremental zoom in/zoom out

Selection of different view options of the current selected 3D-object

Switch to enable/disable the auto-preview. In case of complex 3D-models, is recommended to deactivate the auto-regeneration, in order to minimize the processor load.

The views as well as the zoom function, are attainable also with the right mouse key. In addition it's possible to displace the current data model in the indicating range by press and hold the "Shift"-key and hold the left mouse button simultaneous.

5. Menu - Item "Tools" 5.1 Tools - Settings

7. Toolbar

7.1 Toolbar - 3D

8. Configuration If you should not know the TYCO-partnumber, there is for some our products, the possibility to find the suitable article with configuration menus, by input of well-known basic data, e.g.: surface finish, height or thickness.
