All remote learning will be communicated via Edmodo where your classroom teacher(s) will be accessible for help & support. Each day your teacher(s) will post 5 tasks to complete with a general guide to how long each task should take (this may differ day to day). Please see the next page for daily tasks. These tasks will range from watching videos, responding to questions, playing online & offline games, contributing to discussions, completing quizzes, etc. At times we will ask students to share their learning, this may be done through taking a photograph, uploading a document or responding to a prompt or question. We value connectedness & strive for our students to feel safe, loved & supported during these unprecedented times. You can expect for your child's teacher to make direct, one-on-one contact with your child at least once a week through either a personal Edmodo message or a phone call when possible.

FAQ’s How does my child sign up?

Your child already has an account THEY DO NOT NEED A NEW ACCOUNT. Refer to page 2 for instructions on logging in.

How do I get a parent account? Parents can join through their child’s homepage. Refer to page 3 for help with the homepage

What is their class code? MOST students are already in a class, they may need to join a new class IF instructed on Edmodo. Instructions will be posted.

When are teachers available? Classroom teachers will be available online from 9-Midday & from 3-3:30 every school day.

The morning session will focus on literacy & numeracy task, set & run by classroom teachers.

The afternoon availability is for teachers to check in with students.

What about specialist classes? Specialist classes will be set a bit differently, please follow instructions on Edmodo.

What about attendance? Attendance will be recorded by classroom teachers between 9 & 9:30 each day; if your child is unable to log on to Edmodo between these times please notify the school.

Why isn’t there much on Edmodo yet? This document says they should have many more assigned tasks…

Edmodo tasks will start off easy, with an emphasis on getting students, parents & teachers familiar with the program. Tasks, expectations & timetables will evolve… Please be flexible & patient whilst we find our feet distance teaching.

What if my child can’t learn at that time? (Appointment, illness etc.)

Edmodo is the ultimate flexible learning tool. Ideally your child can complete the tasks following the example schedules; this way they can get the best help from their teachers. If you miss some tasks they will still be able to complete/ you can finish them in the afternoon. Due dates are still due dates, so check planners regularly!

We hope that this document gives you some confidence moving forward. Please read through thoroughly or use online resources to troubleshoot any issues that you may have with Edmodo before you contact the school.
