Comparative adjectives are used to compare two things.
Superlative adjectives are used to compare many things.

Syllables
Syllables are the beats in a word. Each vowel sound is one
beat.
The number of syllables in a word depends on its sound
not its spelling. For example, ‘dog’ is a one-syllable word
