We are not material snobs here at Genesis. We believe you can make brilliant bikes from steel, aluminium, carbon or titanium – and that’s exactly what we try to do. We are however, very particular

about making sure that the materials we use are the very best available

to us. Whether we are making frames with our own Mjolnir Chromoly,

Reynolds 931 or 853 tubesets or even the stunning 3AL-2.5V

double-butted Titanium, we choose the best materials for the job. That’s

the only way we can be sure the bike is as good as it can possibly be.

We’re proud to say that Reynolds has played a major part in how our

bikes and ranges have developed over time. For over ten years we’ve

worked closely with their engineers to utilise beautiful and

high-functioning tubesets that have made bikes like the Croix de Fer

and Volare possible.

Since the very beginning we’ve had a clear philosophy at Genesis: build bikes we’d be proud to ride ourselves. That means everything we make, we love, and there’s nothing here we’ve made just to tick some boxes. It’s all killer, no filler if you will.

The other thing that underpins Genesis is a love for bikes that can

do anything. We’re proud to be the original adventure brand, and

were making adventure bikes before adventure bikes were cool,

because we know that no matter where you are or what you’re trying

to achieve, a bike is always your best travelling companion. We’ve

stayed true to that through the years and as a result our bikes have

been on all kinds of adventures, big and small, whether it’s crossing

entire continents, breaking records or simply figuring out where that

lane that’s been tempting you for years actually leads to.

“Drop bars don’t always mean tarmac. ‘Normal riding’ shouldn’t be a definition of accepted limits.”

That’s the description we gave the original Croix de Fer back in 2009. At the

time, we weren’t sure if people would get it, so we hedged slightly, labelling

it as a cross bike in the truest sense of the word. Capable on and off road and

with disc brakes, it was our take on a bike that could go further… but we never

imagined quite how much further.

One year later Vin Cox set off from The Royal Observatory in Greenwich,

London. Some 163 days and 18,000 miles later, he returned a world record

breaker. The Croix de Fer was breaking records for us, too. It turns out people

who love to ride bikes, loved the Croix de Fer.

A bike that is perfectly balanced with an appetite to take on the biggest

adventures but with practicality at its heart. A cross-boundaries,

cross-continent, ‘cross-inspired kind of bike. Wherever you find yourself,

there’s fun to be had on a Croix De Fer. It’s a bike we’re hugely proud of here

In many ways, the Croix de Fer is the original Genesis bike, the bike that best

embodies who we are as a brand. The CdF can do a bit of everything, combining fun with practicality and is equally at home rolling down the tarmac as it

is on a long adventure. When you’re on a Croix de Fer the only limit is your imagination.

very first Genesis rolled out into the wild.

We’ve made bikes that have scaled the highest peaks, traversed continents, broken records and won races. With the award winning Datum, Fugio, Tour de Fer

and the unforgettable Vagabond, we have a bike that’ll suit you no matter how big – or wild - your

Although you might not always think road when you think Genesis, it’s a category in which

we have years of experience - capped off by winning the 2018 British National Road Race

championships. But as you may have guessed, we’re not content to follow the tarmac trends, and that’s

why steel and alloy underpin our road offerings with the beautiful Volare (now back in rim brake guise by popular demand), the ever-dependable Equilibrium

and the Delta, a perfect starter bike for anyone who’s a little road-curious. Oh, and we still have the Zero Disc SL, a pure-bred race weapon created for the Madison Genesis pro team and proud winner of

that National Title.

Our 2020 range of road bikes is more refined than ever and we’ve included a number of stunning

Who would have thought back in 2012, that an unknown team could go on to create so many incredible, lasting memories? It has been a privilege to watch some of the UK’s top riders race our bikes to numerous memorable victories and the opportunity to pit ourselves against some of the biggest pro tour teams in the world has been something we will cherish forever.

Having national champion, Connor Swift, ride the Genesis Zero to victory in 2018 is certainly something we will never forget! Alas, all good things must come to an end and we’ll be using our pro-peloton experience to keep improving and developing our bikes in the future. In the meantime, thank you to everyone that supported the team along this incredible journey. See you on the road.
