TURTLE TALK
Delta Zeta—State o f Alabama Alumnae
Well the plans have been put together for Alabama State Day.
I am so excited about a day of fun in Birmingham, and I would love
to see you there!
Saturday, July 13, 2013
Birmingham Museum of Art - docent led tour at 10:30am - European Masterpieces:
The Grand Tour and docent led tour at 11:45am America: Then and Now - we have to
gather 15 minutes before the first tour, and I need an accurate head count.
Tours are an hour long, and you can find more information on the website:
https://www.artsbma.org/
Then we will head over to Superior Grill on Highway 280 - for Tex Mex and fun! Proba-
bly about 1:30pm or so.
http://birmingham.superiorgrill.com/
I am trying to work out the deals for a philanthropy project. I need
to try to get a head count to make sure we have everything covered
with the museum tours.
This event is for all Delta Zeta Alumnae in our state (or close to us)
You can send me a text at 334-313-0896 to let me know if you are
attending or email me at [email protected] (or confirm
with the “event” in the Turtle Talk FB group!)
I hope to see you there!!!!!

love them all!
Recruitment information from
Meredith Purser, CCD:
Our workshop is August 2-9. If
anyone wanted to send snacks,
notes of encouragement, etc., the
girls would really appreciate it. If
there are any local alumnae with
recruitment know-how, they can
contact me to see how they can be
used!
Recruitment is from August 10-16
(two days each for Ice Water Teas,
Philanthropy, and Skit, one day
for Preference. We are only al-
lowed 15 mothers/
alumnae in the house
at any time during
recruitment party
days, so if anyone
wants to help, they
can just call or email
me to find a spot!
We'd love to have
them!
Bid Day is August 17
at 10am.
This summer, we
really need someone
to make new ritual
garb. We are holding
dual ceremonies now
because of our pledge class sizes
(120 this year probably!), and we
are short on our "clothing" since
we have to have a total of 18
SETS! We have 16 sets in good
condition, but we could use a few
for backup. I would like to have 4-
6 new sets made for the fall. I can
provide the pattern and instruc-
tions if someone wants to help out
with that.
I am also looking for someone in
the Tuscaloosa/Birmingham area
that could serve as Ritual Advisor.
It requires availability to attend
rituals and practices in fall and
spring, so long-distance advising
would be difficult in most cases.
Please go to the website and read

Zeta Criteria for Membership

Congratulations to all of our awesome Alabama ladies—whether you were from our collegiate chapters and moved
away or if you live in our state currently. What a great accomplishment to be celebrating one of these milestones.
The milestones recognized are: Ten Year - celebration of ten year anniversary of initiation, Silver—celebration of
twenty-fifth year anniversary of initiation, Gold—celebration of fifty year anniversary of initiation, Pearl— celebra-
tion of sixty-fifth year anniversary of initiation, Diamond—celebration of seventy-fifth anniversary of initiation
As you can see Delta Zeta sisterhood is for a lifetime. Your life as an Alumna is definitely longer than those collegiate
years! Congratulations to all of you on your lifetime of sisterhood, and we celebrate your achievement with all of you!
My heartfelt apologies if I have your name listed incorrectly—if I do, please send me the correction to christyjar-

The best way to help our chapters
when sending a letter of recom-
mendation is to include the Intro-
duction Form from www. Del-

would be great to include informa-
tion on the young lady such a pic-

rank, standardized tests scores.
