Girne Secondary School’s Activitiesof the Project’s First Year
MULTIDISCIPLINARY FLIPPED LEARNING WITH ICT
Karsiyaka Girne Secondary School
• We introduced the project in school using school networks such as school’s website, the teachers’ WhatsApp Group and Facebook.
• We interviewed with a journalist in order to introduce the project in Turkey. But, it was not published in September. In May, we did another interview with Anadolu Agency’s journalist, Halil ŞAHİN. And, it was published in May.

In September, as Girne Secondary School Project Team, we performed the introduction activities of the project. These activities are as:

SEPTEMBERINTRODUCING THE PROJECT
• The news of the project was published in Posta Izmir newspaper. Therefore, I would love to thank to Anadolu Agency’s reporter, Halil Şahin.
• We formed our national working group as 20 students for working in the project. We chose these students considering the level of academic success.
• We did a meeting with our national working group in order to introduce the project and Flipped Learning.

• We created a Google group in order to communicate with the students.
• We filled the communication sheet about students’ information and then uploaded it to project’s Google Drive.

• In September, the national working group of our school prepared the project board.

• We did two meetings with our students related to e-twinning platform. We gave information them about how they can use eTwinning platform.
• We added our students to the project’s e-Twinning platform.

• In October, we prepared a video (nearly 10 minutes) related to how to design a logo by using a screencasting computer program ,Camtasia, and then uploaded it to project’s Face group and eTwinning platform.
• Students watched the video at home, and then they worked on designing the logo with their national group at school. They used Logo Garden while designing their logos.
• Then, we uploaded the logos of students to e-Twinning portal and project’s Google Drive.
• Selin UĞURLU's logo took third prize in Italy meeting.

• We realized the first meeting of the project in Portugal.
• We planned and set ground rules of the Project in Portugal.
• We divided responsibilities, made the plan to produce our Intellectual
Outputs.
• We took a training related to ICT.
• We learnt how to make a narrated video lecture using screencasting
softwares such as Jing, Snagit, or Camtasia.
• We learnt how to prepare a digital postcard using Lucid Press.

• In December, Ismail ASLAN (Turkish teacher) prepared a video
about how to design a digital postcard using Lucid Press. And, we
uploaded this video to e-Twinning platform.
• The Students watched the video. At the classroom time, they used
Lucid Press to prepare the digital postcard about themselves in order
to send to International groups.
• The students shared their digital postcards on Face group of the
project and e-twinning platform.

• Sinem Şenol (English teacher) gave information to the students about how to prepare a writing in English about themselves. And, I taught them about how to upload their digital postcards to e-Twinning platform.

• In December, Ramazan ERGUN (Social Science teacher) prepared a
video about how to edit a movie using PowToon. And, we uploaded this
video to e-Twinning platform and shared it on Face group of the project.
• The Students watched the video and made an e-guide about how to
make a movie.
• The students shared their workings on Face group of the project and
eTwinning platform.

• In December, the students prepared a video about the Girne Secondary School.

PROJECT MEETING IN ITALY (14 - 18 JANUARY 2016)
JANUARYTHE MEETING IN ITALY
• We realized the second meeting of the project from 14 to 18 January in Italy.
• The aim for this meeting was to teach the students about Internet Ethics. At this meeting, the students worked with their international working groups on Cyber bullying, secure password, use of social, the online reputation, and freewares.
• Before the meeting, Ramazan Ergun teacher prepared a video about how to use PowToon. We uploaded all this video to the project’s e-Twining platform. The students learned information about this subject before the meeting.
• Before the meeting, the students prepared a presentation about their own schools. And, they presented it in Italy meeting. In the meeting, they worked on Internet Ethic with their own international groups.
• A student from each country made a presentation about the logo. And, we selected the best three logos. The first logo defined as the project’s official logo.
• Each international working group prepared a presentation related to Internet Ethic to convey their learning outcomes to their peers via using Multimedia applications such as PowToon and Power Point.

• The third meeting of FLwICT project was held in Sevilla/SPAIN. The main subject at meeting was how to improve the students learning outcomes about “CULTURE” such as the traditional folk dances, the foods, the national heritage, the historical places of all countries.
• At the first day of the meeting, the students made a presentation about their own culture.
• At he workshop time, the students prepared questions for the Quiz: “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” And, next day the students realized this activity with their international groups. It was really exciting activity for our students. Because, they learned so many thing about other participant countries culture via this activity.
• At the meeting, all participant countries displayed their typical dances and the students danced at the farewell party.
• In Spain meeting, the students learned how to cook “Salmorejo” soup, which is famous in Spain. It was shown in a class to international groups.

• In March, Ramazan ERGUN (Social Science teacher) prepared a video about

• And, we uploaded this video to e-Twinning platform and shared it on Face
group of the project .
• The students watched the video at home. And, at school, the students worked
with their internal group friends, and produced an e-book about the culture of
Turkey using Publisher program.

PROJECT MEETING IN LATVIA ( 04 - 08 April 2016)
• The purpose of Latvia meeting was to improve students' cultural awareness. During the meeting, students discussed on what is considered an appropriate behavior in one culture is frequently inappropriate in another one.
• Before the meeting, the students worked with their national group and prepared a presentation about the customs and etiquette: Introduction and Greeting, Gift Giving Etiquette, Dining Etiquette, Social Norms in Public Spaces, School Rules in their own country in Turkey. They presented this presentation at the first day of the meeting in Latvia.
• In Latvia, at the workshop time, the students worked with their own international group about cultural heritage, cultural awareness and language diversity. They learned so many thing about other participant countries culture via this activity.
