Clean Air for Industry

Two-Phase NozzlesTurbotak Nozzles use compressed air or steam to atomize liquids. Gas and liquid mix within the nozzle to create a critical sonic-flow mixture. The larger orifice and lower pressure results in reduced erosion and plug-ging of the nozzle.

Atomize a Variety of LiquidsIncluding slurries, oils and high vis-cosity sludges—virtually any pump-able liquid.

Proven to PerformFor over twenty years, Turbotak Atom-izing Nozzles have been on the job in thousands of plants around the world.

Superior Droplet ControlA hallmark of the Turbotak Atom-izing Nozzle is its superior control over the size distribution of droplets. Droplet size is controlled from 5 to 200 microns simply by adjusting liquid flow and air pressure.

Custom DesignedThe Turbotak Atomizing Nozzle is available in many configurations to produce the precise performance you require.

Single orifice nozzles produce a full cone spray with a 15¡ total spray angle. The multiple orifice nozzle pro-vides larger flow capacities and wider spray angles.

Rugged Lance DesignTurbotak Atomizing Nozzles are mounted on lances for easy instal-lation, inspection and maintenance. The rugged, thick-walled lances are resistant to corrosion and abrasion. TurboSonic’s design features an outer air pipe that keeps the lance cool—minimizing distortion due to heat.

TurboSonic matches the lance to the application and the physical shape of the vessel.

ControlsComplete control systems, ranging from low-cost manual controls to sophisticated automatic controls for interfacing with process control sys-tems, are available with Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles.

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles finely atomize water, high viscosity liquids, and slurries by means of compressed air or steam. Droplet sizes are accurately controlled by adjusting gas and liquid flows, and operating pressure.

The patented nozzles are particularly resistant to abrasion and plugging, and relatively insensitive to the physical properties of the material sprayed.

Specified to match the application, Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles are available in any suitable material of construction, including 316L stainless, hardened steel, Hastelloy, ceramics, stellite, thermoplastics and other machinable materials.

Applications include gas cooling and conditioning, particulate scrubbing, gas absorption, spray drying, waste fuel combustion, and dust suppression.

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles are able to atomize liquids to smaller droplets while using the lowest energy per gpm.

Droplets: Size MattersDroplet size is crucial in nozzle applications. By atomizing a given volume of liquid to smaller drop-lets, the surface area and number of droplets is increased. The result is better contacting.

Tight droplet size distribution puts more droplets in the desired size range.

Acid Gas ScrubbingThe quantity of acid gas transferred to the liquid phase is proportional to the interfacial (surface) area.

Evaporative Gas CoolingSmaller droplets evaporate faster for dry operation—crucial for oper-ations with baghouses and ESPs.

Reduced Chemical UsageSmaller drops provide faster reactions, greater efficiency and reduced chemical usage.

CombustionRapid vaporization ensures a much faster and cleaner burn.
