Useful Clarifications: IMT 2020 or « 5G »

IMT 2020 is the actual effort to define next generation cellular

technology.

What is means in practice is that, when the discussion starts, 3GPP will

import the relevant IMT 2020 requirements and add its own requirements

on top of that.

“5G” will remain a marketing term that companies will use (like it was

the case for “4G”)
