Reminder about safety courses
• From now onwards the « CERN - Beam Facilities » will be needed for access requests to ALI-UX and ALI UX-GUI.
• All person including those presently having access to ALI-UX and ALI UX-GUI will lose the access right, if they have not completed successfully the « CERN - Beam Facilities » e-learning before the final migration date. Therefore please take a moment to complete the « CERN - Beam Facilities » e-learning course at http://sir.cern.ch as soon as possible.

TS1 preparatory meeting 10
TPC other• Laser maintenance
– Preventive maintenance of lasers. Check performance and status of flash lamps. If necessary, replace flash lamp(s), tune energies and alignment.
– For alignment, it is necessary to shoot laser into the TPC. This will be coordinated with the TPC team at a time when nobody is working on the TPC.
• Gas (PH-DT): work on TPC pump and frequency variator (CR5)
03/06/15
TS1 preparatory meeting 11
ITS• Visual inspection of the ITS cooling plants and power supply racks
• SPD cooling work– RP check (Mon)– Filling tank
03/06/15
TS1 preparatory meeting 1303/06/15
CV-DC to put in SDBY the TPC FEE and SPD plants on Monday early morning (7:00 AM)
TS1 preparatory meeting 14
TRD/TOF• TRD: Ethernet + optical fibers checks inside L3
– Thursday or Friday during the day
• TOF: replacement TDCs• Overnight or Thursday or Friday during the day• Andrea to see with Bologna people and let us know
03/06/15
TS1 preparatory meeting 15
EMCal/DCal
• Understand and fix why EMCAL (SRU) voltages trip at configuring EMCAL STU
• Fix LED box of one of EMCAL SMs. C-side top (SMC1)• Reprogramming of TRUs• Swapping EMCAL STU DDLs• Replacing (about 10) FECs of EMCAL and DCAL• Connecting DCAL STU back to PHOS power supply
• EMCal: work overnight Mon-Wed + during day Thu-Fri• DCal: anytime, must be coordinated with PHOS
03/06/15
TS1 preparatory meeting 17
MCH• Replace gas pipes on stations 4 and 5 (at the bottom off the chambers): no need to
open the chambers• Check LV connection stability on CH8R G7 (at the LVPS, filter box levels…): no need
to open the chambers• Visual check of mechanics on station 1
03/06/15
TS1 preparatory meeting 18
MTR• 3 gas gaps (MT11-2; MT21-6; MT12-line1) OUTSIDE to be checked/repaired/changed
• Nacelle needed (EDH request #6037399 from low beta platform to UX25 side C level 1 outside).
• Since there is not access through PX24, the gas gaps are to be carried down with the LHC elevator at P2 (LHC-TNL access) and the passage through the UP25 chicane (YCAMM01) is needed (gas gap is approx. 2,7 m long)– Answer from LHC coordination: the best is to perform the activity on Tuesday 16th. On
Wednesday 17th the UP25 MAD is in maintenance and a patrol is scheduled on Wednesday afternoon.
• The cables on RPCs are first disconnected; then the gas gap is lowered using dedicated electrical hoist (while guided by persons on the nacelle); the gas gap is then checked in UX25 side C level 1, eventually repaired or changed with new one. The gas gaps are then remounted on the Trigger mechanical frame and reconnected
• Installation/test of USB blaters and micro-PCs (upper gangways, close to muon trigger racks) for the remote programming of the 16 Regional card firmware (C. Renard, JL Beney). In coordination with Andre Augustinus et al.
• Minor FE electronics maintenance (Ph. Rosnet)03/06/15
TS1 preparatory meeting 19
DAQ/detectors activities• TPC: swap a pairs of links (RCU 0 and 1) inside the module of TPC A14 placed in the
Mini-Frame patch-panel. This activity will be coordinated with the RCU replacement works. The work will be made by Joan with the help of Filippo for what concern the coordination with TPC activity.– Small interference with TPC A-side work– Will be done on Tuesday
• EMCal: swap the two fibers of EMCAL STU in the module of patch-panel located in L3, to have the correct polarities of fibers in CR1 (Martin and Filippo)– Will be done on Thursday
• PHOS: inspection and repair of the PHOS STU DDL fiber inside L3 (max. 1 hour)– Will be done on Thursday

TS1 preparatory meeting 20
Other interventions• TE-VSC: close/open manual valve inside miniframe
– Close: Monday morning at 8:00 AM– Open: Friday afternoon after 14:00
• EN-HE: reinstall/remove crane electronics– Reinstall: Monday morning– Remove: Friday 14:00
• GS-ASE:– Gas detection maintenance (SG2, CR5 and UX25) transparent– UP25 MAD maintenance Wed. Will drop the patrol
• IT-CS:– TETRAPOL measurements (A TETRAPOL radio will be used to measure signal strength and other
parameters. Nothing will be physically installed or modified in the tunnel/experiment)– IT-CS: cut GSM network. There will be a max. 10 min cut of the GSM network at 7h30 on the Monday
morning, and a second cut after their tests, during the afternoon. For the 2nd cut they will call Andre.

TS1 preparatory meeting 22
DCS
• Monday morning (09h - 13h) for maintenance. The major activities will be:– Installation of new file servers (will bring additional
redundancy)– Restart of all WinCC projects
• We do not plan any patches or other updates to the software. The implication is that DCS will be unavailable during (most of) that morning. We will assure the availability for the rest of the TS (notably for the TPC tests).
