The Associations aim 'to advance the education ofYoung People in all aspects of watersports' wasachieved by a full programme of events during theyear. It should be remembered that without the work
of the Associations most of the YP would not be able togain access watersports and water activities. Our
annual programme of activities include:-
Managing and operating our dedicated water sportscentres at Fishmoor (Blackburn) gr Spade Mill
(Longridge) reservoirs. These venues are open mainly
between April to Sept for our members to allow small
groups of Young People (YP) to enjoy water activities
e.g. paddling and sailing.
The Association ran an annual Water Days weekend ofwater sports for its members, over 24th-25th June, atthe Anderton Centre, Rivington. This event managed
by 25 volunteers attracted over 200 YP over theweekend.
A residential Water Sports w/e 16 —17th Sept also atthe Anderton Centre, Rivington was organised for 12YP. This formal training event saw 12 YP attain national
Royal Yachting Association (RYA) qualifications in
saiTing and power boating.
The Associations Annual Regatta in Oct 2017 was held
in conjunction with Jumbles Sailing Club.
The Associations Youth Racing team of 15 YP attendeda range of national events including
~ Southport 12hour Race~ National Regatta~ National Singie Handed Team Racing
The youth tea'm, a mix of rookie and experiencedsailors, varied in size depending on the event.
Fishmoor venue was awarded a large grant from twocharities, Hedley Foundation and VYNet, to allow
expansion of activities through the purchase of a
second Safety Boat.

The main objective for fundraising was to purchase anew second Fishmoor Safety Boat cost f5,000. This
was achieved through grants from Hedley Foundation

Review of the charity'sfinancial position at the endof the period
Para 1.21 The Associations Financial audited accounts (attached),are compliant, the main issues:-.' f1,550 spent from reserves.~ f4,600 received in grant funding.~ f8,035spent on development (training) costs.~ f1,826 Insurance expense.There was an unexpected cost of f1,500 paidto BwD Young Peoples Services to purchase twostorage Containers gr two laser Funboats for Fishmoor.
A working group is at present looking into membershipand water fees with a view to increasing contributionsfor the next Financial year.

induction pack for trustees, given to new trusteeswhen they are elected.

Since forming as a charity we have a policy of forming
new relationships with other youth (or youth related)organisations especially those based near to our watersports venues.We have an ambitious project to replace thetemporary storage containers at Fishmoor with a

permission through the local authority.

I report on the accounts of the association for the period ended 31 March 2018 which are Set out on
pages 2 to 3.
Respective responsibilities of Committee and examiner
The association's Committee are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.
it is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts in accordance with UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP)
state whether particular matters have come to my aitention
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with UK GAAP. An examination includes a review ofthe accounting records kept by the association and a comparison of the accounts presented with
those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and
seeking explanations from the Committee concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. Consequently, no opinion is given asto whether the accounts show a true and fair view and the report is limited to those matters set out in
the statement below.
Independent examiners statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonablecause to believe that in any material respect the requirements
to keep proper accounting records
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records
have not been met, or to which in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a properunderstanding of the accounts to be reached.
