and south of central African rain forest

• Americas; north and south of Amazon rain forest, west coast of Central America and into North America alone west coast of Mexico

• Asia; most of India, and the Indochina peninsula

• Australia; band across

Soils

• Less acidic than those of rain forest and generally richer in nutrients• Highly vulnerable to erosion

from all the rain that happens at once.• Average rainfall is 150-200cm

Fauna•Most common:• Tigers• Raccoons• Bobcats• Coyotes• Kit and gray foxes• Mountain lions• Badger

Plant life• Up to 40 tree species in a small forest• Trees, shrubs, and undergrowth

• Some of the dominant plants are: Columnar cacti, deciduous trees, drought-tolerant orchids

• Deforestation• Fires; caused by nature and

humans• Pollution• Erosion• Animals being chased away

in some areas
