INTRODUCTION

In computer technology, viruses

are malicious software programs,

a form of malware. By definition,

viruses exist on local disk andspread from one computer to

another through sharing of

³infected´ files.



TROJAN HORSE & SALAMI ATTACK

´ A Trojan horse, or Trojan, is malware that appears to

perform a desirable function for the user prior to run

or install but instead facilitates unauthorized access

of the user's computer system.

´ Salami attack an attack on a computer network which

involves the intruder siphoning off small amounts of

money from a file and placing them in another file that

he or she can access; for example, a file that holds

their bank account details



TYPES OF TROJAN HORSE

PLAYLOADS

´ A horse may modify the user's computer todisplay advertisements in undesirable places,such as the desktop or in uncontrollable pop-

ups, or it may be less notorious, such asinstalling a toolbar on to the user's web browserwithout prior notice. This can create revenue forthe author of the Trojan, despite it being

against the terms of servise of most majorInternet advertising networks, such as googleadsense.



WAYS TO PREVENT VIRUSES.

´ Install anti-virus and anti-spyware software

´ Make sure that update your anti virus software

once a month´ Activate a reliable Firewall.

´ Perform anti-virus and anti-spyware scan

everyday.´ Active the Internet Pop-Up Blocker when you

are using internet.



WAYS TO PREVENT VIRUSES

´ Delete suspicious emails.

´ Manage passwords

´ Disable email image previews



CONCLUSION

´ We must be careful when we·re using computer

or internet. You must remember that virus may

harmful your computer.To avoid from virus, we

have to install anti-virus and anti-spyware

software.
