TriScan Tire combines important func-
tions into one device. It is developed for tread
wearing analysis, profile measurements and
capturing a complete 2D cross-section profile
for passenger and truck tires. Our system uses
strong and accurate mechanical components to-
gether with highly precise laser sensors to mea-
sure the tire’s entire outer shape. The system
makes 2D measurements of bead-to-bead with
sidewall analysis, heel and toe measurements,
tread wear measurements, footprint calculati-
ons and surface frequency evaluations. The 3D
mapping function gives a worn tire analysis and
predicts the lifetime through continuous measu-
rements of decreasing profile depth. With just
2 measurements it calculates the estimations.
TriScan Tire is used by car manufacturers, in
tire development and test centers, such as
ADAC, for quality assurance and control. The
system consists of a laser triangulation sensor,
a wheel rotation unit and a three axes positio-
ning unit, which enables to measure tread and
sidewall including the rim flange.
