MORNING WORSHIP

The Welcome and Announcements

The Prelude Praise to the Lord arr. Charles Callahn Justin Harden, flute

The Striking of the Hour

• The Call to Worship Portions of Isaiah 42:1–10 Mr. Pendley Behold My servant, Whom I uphold, My chosen, in Whom My soul delights; I have put

My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations ... a bruised reed He will not break, and a faintly burning wick He will not quench; He will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not grow faint or be discouraged till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for His law... “I am the LORD; I have called you in

righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the

prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness. I am the LORD; that is My name; My glory I give to no other, nor My praise to carved idols ... Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants.

• Congregation, please stand as able

The Silent Meditation upon Entering the Sanctuary

The God we worship is the God of Abraham, and this God works in men to bring forth faith like Abraham’s.

This God brings life out of death, love out of hate, peace out of turmoil, joy out of misery, praise out of cursing, and strength to those who trust Him.

In our day He does so through Jesus Christ, Who is the focal point and heir of the promises. Will you trust Him? Will you trust His promises of salvation – of forgiveness of sins, of access to His presence of eternal life?

The Reading of God's Word Genesis 17:1-8 When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before Me, and be blameless, that I may make My covenant between Me and you, and may multiply you greatly.” Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, “Behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”

The Christian Greeting

The Offertory Anthem Here I Am Lord arr. Craig Courtney Chancel Choir

I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard My people cry.All who dwell in deepest sin My hand will save.

I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright.Who will bear My light to them? Whom shall I send?

Here I am, Lord, Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night.I will go, Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne My people’s pain.

I have wept for love of them. They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, Give them hearts for love alone.

I will speak My word to them, Whom shall I send?

I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame.I will set a feast for them. My hand will save.

Finest bread I will provide till their hearts be satisfied. I will give My life to them. Whom shall I send?
