Sermon Series:
Five Languages of Love
W elcome. We’re glad you have chosen to wor-
ship God with us this morning. Our hope is
that the Holy Spirit speaks to you during
our time together. We love visitors and hope you find
Trinity to be a warm and welcoming place.

8 a.m. - 12 p.m. for infants and toddlers.
• Special Assistance is available for those who
need hearing devices or have accessibility
needs. Please see an usher.
• Room Locations: Rooms 100-207 and the Li-
brary are located in the Sanctuary Building.
Rooms 300-403, the Nursery and the Chapel
are located in the Fellowship Building, which
is across the courtyard.
Worship Today
Greeters at the 8:30 service today are Jim &
Shirley Dougherty and Mary Louise Viereck at the
10:30 service.
The flowers on the altar are given by Howard
Chatham in memory of Elinore Chatham.
You are invited to stay after each service to help
make sandwiches for the hungry served by Mar-
tha’s Table in Washington, D.C. On the second
Sunday of each month, we make 1,500 meat and
cheese sandwiches.
Today begins this month’s sermon series, Five
Langauges of Love. Each week our worship will
focus on one of the languages, based on the book
by Gary Chapman.

Movie Night will be Friday, March 13, in the Fellowship Lobby from 6 to 9:p.m. This month’s movie
is Hop. Children ages 3 & up may bring a pillow & sleeping bag. Hosted by the Mantel & Hensley fami-
lies. We will not be asking for donations, yet hope to get some parental volunteers to host in the near future. If we all host a movie night, the cost of snacks even out.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Children
Children’s Sunday School - Children will explore the basic stories
of our faith, making connections with their own lives.
Sundays, 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Building.

Children’s Worship - Dedicated to making disciples who are inte-
grated into the worshipping community, this worship service (4 year
olds through 4th grade) is designed to teach our children how to
worship in a hands-on and exciting way! Sundays, 10:30 a.m. in the
Chapel. To volunteer: bit.ly/childrensworship. There will be a 5th
grade sermon discussion in the Lounge (see the 10:30 a.m. order of
worship for more details).
Vacation Bible School - VBS will be Aug. 10 - 14 for chil-
dren ages 3 - rising 4th grade. The program meets 9 a.m. -
12 p.m. This year’s theme is G-Force. Registration coming soon.
Youth
Confirmation - The class meets on Sundays at 4 p.m. before Youth
Group. Led by Nick McMichael.
Girls’ Group - Girls in 7th –12th grades meet Thursdays, 6 - 7 p.m.
for Bible study and fellowship. We are currently discussing hot top-
ics. Led by Catherine Wethington in Room 122.
Youth Group - Available for 6th -12th Grades on Sunday nights
at 5 p.m. for fellowship and study in the Fellowship Building. To
volunteer to bring a snack supper or to help with Youth Group,

Youth Sunday School - 7th - 8th graders join Nick’s class in Room
301. 9th -12th graders can attend Pastor Jim’s class in the Library.

Connections - Join us for our Lenten study, The Lord is Our Salva-
tion by Katie Z. Dawson. Leaders: Andy and Karen Briscoe. Sundays
at 9:30 a.m. in Room 205. All are welcome to attend, advance prepa-
ration is not required.
History of Christianity - Studying the history of Christianity -
from the disciples to the dawn of the Reformation. Sundays at 9:30
a.m., Mondays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Library.
Led by Pastor James Sprouse.
Ladies’ Bible Study - Our Lenten Study, Revival: Faith As
Wesley Lived It by Adam Hamilton begins Tuesday. We will explore
the defining characteristics of a Wesleyan Christian. Newcomers are
welcome Tuesdays at 6:45 a.m. at McLean Family Restaurant. Con-

MISSIONS
March Collection
We are collecting unopened
travel-sized toiletries (such as
shampoo, conditioner, and soap)
for Martha’s Table, a center in
Washington, D.C. that supports
families in need. These toilet-
ries will be given as Mother’s
Day gifts. Please place your do-
nations in the collection bins in
the church narthex or Fellow-
ship Lobby.
Honduras Trailer Update
Trinity’s trailer accepts donations of "lightly used goods" for poor people in Honduras.
We work with Art for Humanity, a local ministry that is supported entirely by individual and church donations. Art for Humanity does not sell any donated items to gen-erate funds. All goods go directly to people.
If you have items to donate, we ask you to consider making a monetary contribution to help de-fray transportation costs. For ex-ample, maybe a bag of used clothing or shoes could be accom-panied with a $20 donation or $100 or more for a piece of furni-ture.
Please feel free to place a check made out to "Art for Humanity" in the offering plate to help cover the costs of shipping your dona-tions, or visit the website www.artforhumanity.org to make a donation online, as well as to obtain a tax receipt for the items you donate.

Crafts for a Cause will meet Monday, March 9 & 23 at 7 p.m. in
Room 124 for fun and fellowship while making pillows, bears and
blankets to comfort hospital patients and shelter residents. Every-
one's welcome to come help us cut out fabric, sew, stitch and stuff a
variety of projects. Instruction and materials are provided. Ques-

WANT TO VOLUNTEER?
You and your family can get involved in many ways—greet worshipers,
serve as an acolyte, help out with our Martha's Table sandwich minis-
try.
Acolytes light the candles at the beginning of the service and extin-
guish them at the end. The crucifer brings the processional cross into
worship at the beginning and takes it out at the end. The bell ringer
calls the community to worship by ringing the historic Langley Bell.

Martha’s Table Ministry has several volunteer needs. You can pick

MUSIC MINISTRY
Adult vocal & handbell choirs rehearse each week (see calendar).

Children’s Choir (ages 4 - 6th grade) share food & fellow-

Music Notes: The Prelude is a Lenten chorale from the Little Or-
gan Book (1708-14) by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Anthem is the
opening movement of an Italianate Missa brevis (1773), composed by
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart shortly after he returned from a tour of
Italy; its Greek text means: “Lord, have mercy; Christ have mercy.”
The Offertory comes from the First Partita (1725-30) by Johann
Sebastian Bach. The Postlude is one of ten Voluntaries published
in 1765 by eighteenth-century London organist Henry Heron.
