Now, the industry has developed Rigid LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank). So what is Rigid LVP? At its most fundamental, rigid LVP/LVT combines the rigidity more common to laminates with the waterproof unit of LVP to create a product that transcends both catego- ries. To say the least, it’s been extremely popular due to its effectiveness and ease of in- stallation in hiding uneven or substandard subfloors. In short, Rigid LVP is the next gener- ation of hard surface flooring. Karndean has developed KORLOK, its rigid LVP. The product has an LVP cap with a 20 mil wearlayer attached to a rigid core that is 100% PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride). It’s backed with an attached acoustic foam pad which makes KORLOK quieter to walk on than laminate or engineered hard floors and reduces noise transfer to rooms below. The K-Core construc- tion is patent pending. K-Core uses proprietary technology and is composed of 100% PVC, no wood flour, to ensure a stronger, more stable core for installation over most existing hard floors without the worry of exposing subfloor imperfections. The 9”x56” planks use a Valinge 5G locking system. It utilizes a single action installation method allowing the in- staller to quickly click and lock planks together. The high definition photographic layer gives every Karndean product its highly realistic and natural appearance and comes in 12 beautiful designs. So why sell KORLOK over other rigid core products? The proof is in the testing. As many of you know, Karndean has been manufacturing LVP/LVT since 1973. That’s all they do! Originally, Karndean manufactured LVP/LVT for the commercial market. For over 40 years, Karndean floors have graced office buildings, retail stores and other commercial applica- tions. In short, it has been well tested. Below are some of the key advantages of selling KORLOK instead of the competition: Dimensions: 9” X 56” lengths make it easier to install, and doesn’t require the assistance of an additional hand. Thickness: Korlok can be cut with a utility knife and doesn’t require a table saw. Rigid Core: Korlok’s propriety core does not contain any wood fillers or composites so you can be sure it’s completely waterproof. Wear Layer: Korlok’s wear layer is suitable for commercial applications and on par with the competition. Locking Mechanism: 5G locking mechanism prevents boards from detaching during sea- sonal temperature fluxuations. Finish: K-Guard+ has been used on Karndean products for longer than competitors have been on the market. It has a history of premium performance with extremely low com- plaints. Attached Underlayment: Korlok’s acoustic foam retains its shape after being com- pressed. It does not encourage bacterial growth or have nooks that can pool water. Warranty: Korlok’s warranty matches or exceeds the industry competitors. The residen- tial warranty is Lifetime and the commercial warranty is 15 years. Karndean KORLOK Rigid LVP by Rick DeMatto

If flooring acronyms seem confusing to you then you’re not alone. First we had WPC, which actually stands for Wood Polymer Core. Now, the industry has developed Rigid LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank). So what is Rigid LVP? At its most fundamental, rigid LVP/LVT combines the rigidity more common to

laminates with the waterproof unit of LVP to create a product that transcends both catego-ries. To say the least, it’s been extremely popular due to its effectiveness and ease of in-

stallation in hiding uneven or substandard subfloors. In short, Rigid LVP is the next gener-ation of hard surface flooring.

So why sell KORLOK over other rigid core products? The proof is in the testing. As many of you know, Karndean has been manufacturing LVP/LVT since 1973. That’s all they do!

Originally, Karndean manufactured LVP/LVT for the commercial market. For over 40 years, Karndean floors have graced office buildings, retail stores and other commercial applica-tions. In short, it has been well tested. Below are some of the key advantages of selling KORLOK instead of the competition:

Awesome Adhesive from AAT (Advanced Adhesives & Technologies)

AAT-420 Premium Vinyl Plank and LVT Adhesive is a

uniquely formulated adhesive engineered specifically for in-

stalling solid vinyl plank and tile (LVT/LVP). It may also be

used to install solid vinyl sheet flooring and rubber tile (up to

24” x 24”). AAT-420 is moisture and alkali resistant and forms

a tenacious, permanent bond. AAT-420 can be used on all

grade levels over concrete and approved wood sub-floors in

the absence of excessive moisture and alkalinity. AAT-420 may

also be used over certain nonporous sub-floors. This premium

vinyl plank and tile adhesive, AAT-420, is solvent free, non-

flammable, contains no carcinogens and is non-toxic. AAT-420

is freeze-thaw stable. Like all AAT adhesives, AAT-420 is pro-

tected by the CleanGuard® two-stage antimicrobial. Clean-

Guard® is a specifically formulated broad-spectrum, anti-

microbial agent that protects the adhesives and sealers from

microorganisms, such as mold or mildew, in both the wet and

dry states.

Particleboard and OSB are not recommended underlayments.

Strip or plank wood flooring, particleboard and OSB sub-floors

should be covered with an approved plywood underlayment

(minimum thickness of ¼”). Before beginning installations with

flooring types or over sub-floors not listed, contact your Terri-

tory Manager for recommendations. While some Lauan ply-

wood panels are widely marketed as “underlayments”, there

are a variety of qualities and species sold as such. Some varie-

ties present severe problems when used as underlayments.

Frequent problems noted are discoloration, indentation, bond

failure, and underlayment delamination. AAT will not warrant

the adhesive when applied over Lauan plywood. PIFL01

Welcome JR to the TSF Customer Service Team!

I was born and raised in Aberdeen, SD. I attended Aberdeen Central High School and graduated in 1998. I stayed in Aberdeen working in grocery man-agement. I made the move to the "Big City" as all of my former coworkers

refer to Sioux Falls in 2006. I have worked in retail and grocery management during my time here and relish the opportunity to take my customer service skills to a new level with TSF.

My favorite hobby is watching sports and cheering on my Oklahoma Sooners, Minnesota Vikings, and Minnesota Twins. I also enjoy getting out and playing softball when I can.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and also attending sporting events and concerts.

The best part about my job is getting the chance to get to know new custom-

ers on a daily basis and help them in every way. I strive to help them provide the best quality flooring to their customers.
